Deadspin has gotten a hold of the full transcript of the NFL hearing to reinstate Greg Hardy. The story details the ridiculous arguments that Hardy's attorney made to show that Hardy was the victim (claims she tripped on the bathroom scale and then attacked Hardy) and how one of our favorite people, Jeff Pash, and he his cohorts don't even question Hardy's version of the story. Pash definitely went harder at Brady for deflated footballs than he did with Hardy.

Once again, the NFL does more to tarnish the integrity of the shield than the Pats ever could.

Inside The Closed-Door NFL Hearing That Reinstated Greg Hardy

You just edged me out, you jerk. ::)

At any rate, I look forward to some people blaming the victim again and wondering why, oh why, would she take a payout rather than go through this a second time.

Also, Rob's absolutely right. Compare how hard the NFL went after Brady for PSI with their, "Yeah, sure, you're the victim here, man!" approach with Hardy.

I found this excerpt from the transcript kinda interesting:

Mr. Pash: Mr. Hardy, did you deflate any footballs after they gauged by the refs on the night of the alleged incident?

Mr. Hardy: No sir, I did not.

Mr. Pash: Well, that is all I need to hear. I am going to recommend an immediate reinstatement with no suspension.

the nfl doesn't give a **** about women/domestic violence.
they tried to take down brady to deflect from real issues. and it worked for the most part...
all offseason nothing but brady stories/little on hardy.

why didn't goodell act as the arbitrator for hardy?? like he did with tom? he could of simply kept the suspension at 10 games instead of handing it off to hendersen..

That entire piece has to be read in order to get the full effect of 1) what pieces of excrement Hardy and his representatives are, and 2) what despicable clowns Goodell, Pash and the rest of the NFL reps are. Incompetence is one thing; their duplicity, deceit and lack of integrity is astounding.

This is Goodell's version of "getting it right." This is how a domestic violence situation is handled after Goodell said the NFL would be an example for other sports leagues and made some highly publicized hires to achieve that goal.

It will be interesting to see any of the NFL-affiliated networks give this much attention. I'm aware of the belief that CBS, ESPN, Fox, etc won't say anything because they don't want to upset their business partner, but I'm hoping someone can see an opportunity here. People love football and want to watch it. They're watching it now with Goodell screwing things up on a semi-annual basis. Imagine how much more they'll enjoy it with someone else as commissioner.

I would like to write that I'm at a loss for words, but that wouldn't be the truth. The truth is that the words I have regarding Hardy, Pash, Goodell, and Jerry Jones would probably bring down the ban hammer on me tout suite. So I'll refrain from saying what I'd like to say, especially as this is a PG forum, and that I have a heckuva lot more respect for Ian and the mods here than I will ever have for those other folks I mentioned.

I'm just happy I took my blood pressure meds earlier before reading that article.

I used to think that Goodell was a pretty decent commissioner. Back when the main complaint was that he was softening the game. Because I thought(and think) that it was necessary to really crack down on the helmet to helmet hits. Concussions are simply too dangerous to allow hits like a safety destorying a slot running a seam route.

But during the last year and a half(or so) I've completely changed my mind. Goodell and his band of monkeys have done something I didn't think would happen. They've made me loose interest in the NFL. Right now I only watch Pats games, and don't even keep track of what happens in other games, or who wins or looses. We all love to hate on Mortensen for Mortesen for writing about the fake "10 out of 12 balls". But what annoys me the most isn't that Mort wrote it, because he did get a very high up source. What annoys me is that we know the source. It's the NFL. "10 out of 12 footballs" is right from their letter to the pats. The NFL has gotten way less hate than they deserve for that letter. These stumbling idiots leaked false information to send the media where they wanted to. The freaking league office. It's really hard to keep interest in a league after it does something like that. Then they continued to leak info that has been proven false.

Then when we have someone like Hardy, who has shown no freaking remorse what so ever, and still plays in the league. The freaking league took Brady to court because of balls that followed the laws of physics, and then when they lost they have gone back to court. But with Hardy they didn't even go to court. And they didn't even fight the freaking ruling. The guy who beat up his girlfriend, and who shows that he learned nothing. Absolutely nothing. Maybe because that suspension for a year really was a payed vacation. On that list that the NFL made up so they hade someplace to store wife and kid beaters while the media and society hate cooled off, while still paying them so the players where nice and happy still. Maybe because he has the freaking owner calling him a great leader after basically fighting the coaches and players, and after basically cat calling the opponents QBs wife. No one should talk about other players wifes like that, and especially not that POS. And still he's "a great leader that we want to sign long term".

If it wheren't because I like our players, and coaches so much I would be done with this league. It feels like watching WWE. It's all so fake. All these things happening behind closed doors. All so freaking fake.

The important bit here is that the league leaked this transcript. No one else couldve. They continue to do what they do.

Why didn't she want to go through with the second trial???

Maybe having every single detail of her sex life and drug habits spread all over the internet might have something to do with it.

It's nice to see that there are a few sites around like deadspin that aren't under control of goodell's NFL and are therefore able to call out the sleazeliness of the league

As someone on PFT of all places noted, the cigarette companies were brought down by a temp employee. So it may not necessarily have come from "way on high." And certainly the NFL doesn't exactly come off like a bouquet of roses here.

It's this sort of crap that fuels the disgust that casual fans, or spouses of football addicts like us, to turn away from the game and actively oppose it. The upcomg Will Smith film, "Concussion," is going to pull the lid off the NFL's failure to react soon enough, or sufficiently invest in player safety again.

When are the owners going to equate "integrity of the game" with doing the right thing for players and their spouses/girlfriends, and quit living in a fantasy land?

From my understanding, Hardy paid her off not to testify again..

Whomever leaked this to Deadspin clearly has a conscience and felt the league didn't handle the Hardy situation any better than they did the Ray Rice situation. If Myra was still around, you could guarantee that someone from the League office would be gone, possibly even Goodell himself.

He did. I was sarcastically referencing those that say she should have gone through another trial to put him behind bars.
