ProJo's Reynolds: Pats so good, they're boring...

That why the the NFL* has the off-season Pats witch hunts, so the other teams get some enjoyment, and false hopes, too.

And yet people complain if NE doesn't win easily by 28. Hell, some were complaining about them during the firggin Dolphins game.

You mean on the Pats game threads here? Yeah, I stay away from those for the most part, except before and sometimes after. They're kind of like flypaper for douchebags. LOL

Saying "boring" kind of derails the point, but there's no question rooting for the Pats is different than just about any other team.

Winning is hard, so for the vast majority of teams any victory has excitement to it. On Sunday: Pats score first! TD! Onside kick! 14-0! And on an on. For annoying Pats fans, there was instead whining that the margin wasn't big enough. But even for "good" fans, you're simply not going to have the same level of excitement many weeks, because the winning is so expected.

But it's not "boring." It's incredibly enjoyable. (Well, Sunday wasn't. The injuries made it a real slog, couldn't wait for it to end. But usually it's incredibly enjoyable. But it is different.)

Feels a bit like 2007 again. Granted 07 seemed to have more excitement around it. Probably because it was the 1st time they did it and we were 8 years younger. And we had a lot of vets and the Moss explosiveness which we have never seen here. plus WW in the slot for the first time.

This year its nice to see the young players making plays and leaving their marks. Setting up new legacy and more importantly a team that will continue to win SBs

Reynolds is boring. Used to be a quality writer, but now he's a grumpy old man. Reminds me of Bob Ryan. And I'm younger than them both, but not by much...

If someone came to me and asked me if I would rather have:
1. A game that was very exciting with a 70% of the pats winning 2. A game where they were 100% going to win but it was a bore.

I would say rings trump entertainment. There are just too many people that have to be shut up. Starting with Shula and going all the way down to every pats hater on the planet.

I also think that Reynolds is missing out on the best part of this year, which makes even the boring games great:

Well it is easy to say that after the Redskins game.

The only real boring game left the Patriots have this year is Titans at home.

The others at least I personally will have some fun with :)

Yep. Knowing that every pats win causes many people to die a little inside makes up for games that are over by the half.

Something also tells me we are going to have a few edge of the seat/nail biters this year. Which certainly evens out any boring type games.

Think about how exciting it is to watch your team play if you are most teams with really nothing to truly play for nor a chance at the playoffs.

Thats boring.

Yep, I'm hoping for a boring season and for once a boring Super Bowl...and for the blood of all other NFL entities to pour through my TV screen.

Plus if you are a fan that just looks at wins and loses, sure, games could be boring. But if you are looking to see which players stand out, make plays, over/under achieve etc, there is a lot more to watch than just the score.
