Oh please fine the team another million so we can see if Kraft fold again or have grown a backbone.

No need to worry folks.....the NFL has promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter!!

So many ways to flame this one.....I'm speechless over it. Do these guys actually think anyone will take them seriously anymore?

They also say they do it every time there's interference, which is quite common...all in the same statement.

Sounds like some wiring work needs to be done in stadium so any local electricians might have a nice little earner on the way ;)

Lloyd, so why isn't he CLARIFYING this??????

If (according to you) this 'misrepresentation' of his words by the national and international media continues any more, then your contention is utterly wrong.

Welp, I may be wrong. (Sadly, this happens from time to time.) If Pitt actually does file a complaint, and that article stays up as written, then yeah, it's an accusation. I personally think that's a large logic leap, to assume intent when there are other, more likely explanations out there.

As far as not clarifying goes, I don't know that enough time necessarily has elapsed for him to even be asked about it (has he even been subjected to another media event since late last night?) Obviously if they file a formal complaint, there's your answer.

Another NFL statement on the headset stuff

NFL puts it back on pats as the people who install it.

Hanscom Air Force Base is what 30 miles away. They were home of the Electronic Systems center where much of the DoD's electronic and radio communications is developed and procured. The NFL needs to pony up and buy some DoD grade radio equipment. Some grunt on the ground calling in an airstrike on a target 1000 meters away to an F16 overhead isn't using the crap equipment that the NFL buys.

Hah, no kidding huh? What the hell did the NFL expect when they signed up with Microsoft? They do realize these are the same clowns who produce Windows right?
LOL you had to figure Microsoft was groaning when "Surface Pro" and "Microsoft" logos were plastered across millions of TV screens in America while the announcers were talking about equipment malfunctions.

So that's Dungy & Rivera that's never had problems in NE with headsets...

I can't believe the Steelers organization posted what they did on their website. I guess they wish to join in on the pity party bus as well.

I think we are having two separate conversations here - there's the issue of whether Tomlin and the Steelers think the Pats did something deliberately malicious...and then there's the issue of whether Tomlin and the Steelers blame headset issues for the loss.

Fair enough. It's still a mighty fine line, though. If the situations were reversed, do you think BB would even mention the headsets in his presser, let alone so early on with such ferocity?

It's become obvious that there are no repercussions for disparaging the Patriots with baseless accusations. Because of all the negativity surrounding the Patriots in the media, NFL insiders (including coaches) are willing to be more brazen about it now.

Yay.

NFL puts it back on pats as the people who install it.

Predictable.

Not really, it says "Every team's game day communications personnel are REQUIRED to work with "NFL communications consultants" to ensure wireless equipment is free and clear of interference and address any problems."

It's basically saying, at least how I'm taking it, that our team communications expert works hand in hand with the NFL communications consultant.

If any issues arise, they both have to work together to fix it. If the Pats had messed with the headphones, the NFL's communications consultants would have known about it. If they were found doing anything illegal by the consultant, the NFL would have said so already. They've said the contrary, and in fact they've said these issues have happened in "many stadiums around the league". In fact the Steelers stadium had these same type of issues in the AFCCG between the Jets and Steelers. Jets were having issues with their headsets.

Interestingly, the guys on ESPN radio feel Tomlin is the most credible coach in the entire league! And they mocked Bill for being "sad" :( about the reports, as if that's even close to what he said. Then it was off on another tangent about how the ESPN report may have been unsourced but this is a "bomb" lobbed in that Tomlin is willing to put his name on it!

This was all in about 13 seconds that it took for me to be able to find time to look away from the road to change the channel. I suppose they may have pointed out that Tomlin's accusation is downright moronic, but I have a feeling they didn't.
I think Tomlin is about as straight a shooter as they come -- this is why I am disagreeing with statements here that Tomlin is "blaming" the loss on equipment malfunctions. I think he has been consistent in taking ownership of the performance of his team and the coaching staff throughout his career.

So I certainly don't doubt that Tomlin believes the accusation (assuming he is making one and they file a formal complaint). I just think his conviction would be misplaced. There are other, more reasonable explanations out there than some sort of deliberate tampering over multiple years.
