Actually, I think it's worse than what you originally thought.I too was confused. Reading comprehension for the win.
1. Reiss wrote a rebuttal/opinion piece on ESPN's article.
2. ESPN deleted Reiss' points where he criticized their Playsheet stealing rumor mongering.
Bad. Very bad. Just not as bad as what I first assumed they had done.
Ironically, I've Edited the Thread Title.

Does ESPN still have an ombudsman?
Reiss's article was short, to the point and didn't call out the writers of the original article. There must be some serious paranoia at ESPN.
Their ombudsman resigned in 2014, in what appears to be frustration over the lack of any meaning to his role.Does ESPN still have an ombudsman?

have they removed it from the longer version ? All florio says is this
Irony- they say martz accused nfl of editing his letter but they do the same to mike reiss.
No, not if you mean that they want attention drawn to the criticisms. They took it away because they didn't want The criticisms out there. Unfortunately, because I like him, Reiss has to leave at this point.ESPN purposely drew attention to criticism of the story by removing it. Did someone do that on purpose?
Poor mike. I bet he doesnt work long at ESPN anymore.
Reiss needs to go out in a blaze of glory ala Office Space.
