Bolden is a below-average RB. The only reason he's on the team is because he's a stellar special teams player.
I wish people would stop trying to make Brandon Bolden anything more than the JAG-at-best he is.
28 rushes, 89 yards, 2 catches (on 6 targets) for 8 yards. This is what Brandon Bolden brought to the table offensively a year ago.
The RB corps was in disarray most of the year, thanks to the Ridley injury, yet he could only manage to be 6th on the team in rushing attempts (behind Brady) and 6th in yards (behind Edelman). He had 10 carries for 47 yards in the last two weeks of the season, or it would have been even less than that. He ran for more than 10 yards in a game three times all season, and two of those were 15 and 17 yards.
Brandon Bolden is a real running back, like Matthew Slater is a real wide receiver.
Just because some Globe flunkie posted that he was taking snaps with the first team, this apparently means THE ANSWER WAS HERE ALL ALONG!!!~!!1
Either that or, you know, most of the actual first-team offense is hurt, and someone has to line up in the backfield.
Stop with Brandon Bolden as a running back.
Stop it.
