I hate that Minihane is pro-Brady, because I really, really, REALLY don't like that guy. Next to Borges he's the other guy I'd love to walk up to and slap him in the face and hope he takes offense.

You can continue to despise that exceedingly low quality person:

I only wish there was youtube of this spineless twerp's appearance on The O'Reilly Factor the evening of Thursday January 22nd - - where he stuck the knife in Tom Brady on national television.

Deflate-Gate
Guests:Kirk Minihane & Jim Gray
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have pleaded ignorance about the improperly-inflated footballs that were used in their victory last Sunday. Sports reporters Jim Gray and Kirk Minihane entered the No Spin Zone to tackle the controversy. "Someone made a deliberate decision to alter the game and deflate these balls," Gray pronounced. "But I believe Bill Belichick when he says he had no knowledge of this, and I believe what Tom Brady had to say. I don't believe he asked anybody to doctor those balls." But Minihane implied that Brady is a quarterback sneak. "I believe this was a Brady operation. Am I supposed to believe that a rogue equipment manager or ballboy was monkeying around with equipment before a championship game? That's simply not believable! Brady runs the ship."

Can't stand Minihane either. That said his beat down of Tanguay this morning was kind of glorious.

Thanks for the info shmess. It's good to know my instincts are still good. Just another media puke who flip flops as the tide turns and will NEVER take any accountability for his words or actions.

I missed it, thankfully but what did he say?

I have never liked Tanguay.........never.

This isn't good at all for the NFL. If their emails are unsealed its game over and I have no doubt of that.

Is there even one NFL executive that's smart enough to realize the consequences of this?

I think they will make one last ditch effort to get a 1 game suspension but I don't think Brady has to budge now.

If those emails are damaging I'm thinking I would settle this in private before August 12th.

All of them. Unseal all of them. I think the best part is nothing the NFL says now is credible. Honestly. I hope Stradley tears Tanguay and Trollin tomorrow. I don't know if she understands the absurd level she will encounter. Actually now that I think about it Minihane will be back and he's pro Brady. So she has that.
Yeah, Minehane has really made a comeback of late in my eyes. Fessed up that he was taken in at first (like everyone by the leaks) but not he's all in on hammering the stupidity. And best of all, he thrives on calling out Felger, Maz, Tanguay et al. He had a hilarious line last night, can't remember it exactly, but it refered to Felger saying something, his puppet Maz echoing it and then not speaking til Felger 'pulled his string' again.

I think if the court next week holds goodell in contempt in the ray rice case, it will be the official downfall for goodell

NOT BREAKING: Judge Jones just cited Goodell 4 misrepresenting Ray Rice's testimony. U can't be surprised that Uncle Roger did same 2 Brady.

Whew!
Was worried for a minute that I was that other guy.

Sally wants the emails, she might not get them though, unfortunately, something about it violating policies. Also read it would be unlikely for the judge to order the unsealing for same reasons.

Could the judge have access to the emails without making them public? That alone would be enough to overturn even the team sanctions most likely, even if we never see them.

He's also, on television, admitted he was entirely wrong and was taken in by the NFL ********. I'm not sure you can do much more than that.

We can hate the flip-flopping but I think it speaks to the firestorm that Mort's tweet/article caused. 2 pounds low when the Colts balls were in line was 'GUILTY' for everyone who wasn't a Pats homer. And if that report was true then I would have been right there with everyone else saying 'someone was clearly doing something'...and taking it a step further, it's kind of illogical to think the ballboys were tampering with footballs without Brady's knowing about it.

So I don't get on someone like Minehane--as much as he's a sensationalistic douche most of the time--for this statement, it's merely reflective of almost everyone's opinion when Mort wrote his article, and highlights just how insanely damaging that initial false report was to the Patriots.

I hope the leakers (had to have been multiple, unless Mort was lying when 'multiple sources' confirmed he got his story 'exactly right') get exposed and heads roll.

In my 1st acts as Interim NFL Commissioner, I pledge to:

Restore the 2016 & 17 draft picks taken from the NE Patriots.
Issue a statement that there was no human caused deflation & that Brady is innocent.
Apologize to the NEP.
Keep the fine $ since Kraft agreed to it.

Penalize the Colts a 2nd round pick for causing this mess. Pick assigned to the NEP.
Penalize the Jets their 1st round pick for tampering with Revis.
Have the Jets & Pats swap 3rd round picks as compensation.

Revisit 2008, and award the NEP an extra 1st round pick in 2016 as compensation.

Who is with me as Interim Commish?

I wonder if Judge Berman will request all underlying evidence and exhibits that led to Wells report. Seems this judge would make all public.

Sally Jenkins ‏@sallyjenx 54m54 minutes ago
I wonder if Berman will hear arguments to sort out NFL-Wells privilege issue? The facts are out there.

Sally Jenkins ‏@sallyjenx 53m53 minutes ago
Here is the thing: the NFL is doing what it accused Brady of doing: getting in way of the facts.

Amazing how many cans of worms were opened once the appeal transcript was made public.

What a disaster for the NFL.

Seems to me any input by NFL into Wells Report is relevant in determining if this was fair arbitration by Goodell.

Judge Berman should demand — not under seal - Jeff Pash’s communications with Ted Wells re Brady report and all notes on it by NFL staff.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I would love for Judge Berman to smack down the NFL/Pash for this and tell them to hand over all communications and force them to be "independent" as they've been saying this publicly since the beginning. It was a REAL selling point to the media and allowed the masses to digest the highlights of the WELLS report accusation as truthful and neutral.

Then again, maybe Brady can save it for defamation (but why wait, it would still count, right?)

Hopefully he saw that longevity in this town as a member of the media is to be informed, educated, critical but being loyal to the local teams.

Shouting at the rain and blasting the team on a daily basis is the quick and easy path to ratings.

Good Stuff! She calls it like it is at face value. No hidden agendas like Mediots trying for personal gain no matter how much they lie, fabricate even lack of telling Whole Story.

If Paul Tagliabue was still Commissioner, Spygate and Deflategate would never have happened. He'd have sent a direct warning to the Patriots first.

I believe Tagliabue has stated very firmly that catching one team and making an example of them to the rest of the League is NOT how to go about enforcing the integrity of the game.

Just imagine. No Spygate. No Deflategate.

The Pats releasing the emails started it.

Mort bailing, then muttering, then deleting the tweet.

The release of the appeal transcript.

From a PR standpoint, the NFL has NEVER endured such a massive PR hit. Never.
