It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The Manhattan Federal Court and the Judge assigned to the NFL suit are not know for being pro big business and conservative. The NFL preferred Manhattan to MN, but it isn't like they filed in a court that is clearly biased to their plight.
SDNY is not an especially bad forum or jurisdiction. Like anywhere else, there are some excellent judges there, and some not-so good ones. I have not practiced before Judge Berman before, but I understand that he is a respected judge.

I am fine with it. It is all about the kind of judge you get. It looks like they are getting a liberal judge that is pro union. I don't believe a federal judge even if he turns out to be a NY sports fan would let that influence him.
Well we've been in the NFL's court up to this point. It was never going to go our way.
A lot of people have seem to have overlooked the fact that the judge used to be a principal in the law firm that represented the NFL against the USFL (and lost).
Something tells me this judge knows the NFL business pretty well.
Yeah I've tried to be positive through this whole thing, but I just have a sinking feeling that this is going to get crapped on by this (or any) NY judge. And I am sure the PA will appeal again after that, but the idea of Week 1 without Brady is getting realer as the seconds tick by.
Why couldn't they just file in Massachusetts?
I don't care where it is, as long as they get an impartial judge, one who looks at the facts, then that is all we can ask for. A fair and impartial judge....
