The NFL is Now ACTIVELY Trolling the New England Patriots

D'ya still think there is an even playing field for the New England Patriots in Goodell's NFL?

OK, THIS is just the NFL publicly giving New England the middle finger:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ource=twitter.com&utm_campaign=mmehta+twitter

"The Jets shouldn't be too deflated over the decision," a league source said. "It won't change the positive air around the team."

How can anyone claim this is not a crooked playing field?

.

What do you want to bet that "league source" was Kensil? And he was probably quite proud of himself for those lame puns.

Just who is this league source?

Revis' ring stopped meaning anything to anyone other than himself the day he signed with the Jet. I don't care about him or his current team

This farce that the "league office" meted out just solidifies my belief that the Pats and their fans are not out to get them, because THEY ARE!. There hadn't been a more text book case of tampering in years. It was about a HOF level player and the stakes couldn't have been higher. Yet the league felt comfortable to acknowledge that tampering occurred, yet deemed that an embarrassing small fine be imposed. If Bob Kraft looks at this and doesn't see a GIANT F**K You being thrown at him, then he isn't a tenth as smart as I thought.

Roger Goodell and his minions have told Kraft without any ambiguity that they are out to get them. They also gave fair warning as to what to expect from Welles report. While I doubt very much there will be any consequence from it, there won't be any satisfaction either. The report is sure to be ambiguous enough that NONE of the stain that tarnished the Pats will be wiped clean. Instead there will be another opportunity for the league, its minions at ESPN, and the usual haters to spew even more slander on our team.

When is Bob going to get it. THE LEAGUE want to take the Pats down. Their continuing consistent success is a threat to their mediocrity. The longer the Pats can maintain their run, the more difficult it will be for these less inspired owners to justify their own mediocrity to an increasingly demanding fan base. They aren't Bob Kraft's friends or partners. They are his competitors and HE is the guy they need to knock off.

Every time I see the potential for something good to be happening for the Pats lie this tampering charge or good rumors coming out of the Wells report, I get disappointed and I'm, shown once again that I'm not just another overly sensitive Pats fan. With today's actions the League just told the Pats as well as the other 31 teams they compete against, that their players are open season for any and all of them, regardless of what their contract status is. AND if Kraft doesn't get equally down and dirty they will just allowing them to win.

This is no bright side to this

I don't want to be right but I have been saying that the League hired Wells and therefore Wells will tell them his findings before he writes his report and will have omissions that point fingers at the league or any other team. The only way this would have been a fair deal was to have the league hire it's law firm and the Pats to hire it's law firm and the NFLPA hire it's law firm and they all work together to get to the bottom of the issue and then produce a realistic fair and honest report. Because they ech keep the other honest. The latest decision of the NFL to say the are no longer Tax exempt because they don't want to say what the commissioner makes. and all the other hiding tactics.

You really think an NFL hired and paid for investigator will release a report condemning the NFL...let's just say I have a different take on how the NFL works.

We're a very hopeful forum.

(puff, puff--pass)

Don't worry, you're not right.

He may not be right, but it should be noted that the person working with Wells has allegiance to the league (and possibly even the Jets if I remember correctly), so I'm sure some type of damage control or bias will come into play one way or the other.

If the bias is that we get an apology and the Kensil is fined rather than outright canned I'll accept that. I just want this to be over.

That's right. Everyone seems to forget about Pash (an NFL VP), who was named in the original press release as a co-leader of the investigation. There is no way that Wells is being allowed to do a "I'll follow the leads where they go, who cares where the chips may fall" investigation."

Well all the whispers and rumors coming out in reports over the past weeks say that the league is being examined so idk what to tell you.

What will it take for people to stop posting things like this? Mike Kensil was all ready to wrap up a sham of an investigation and slam the Pats within 3 days of the initial reports when someone, very likely Kraft, demanded that Wells get called in. From there on out the investigation was taken out of the NFL's hands. ....

Ok, what will it take-- how about ONE single decision in the pats-jester saga that wasn't lopsided (Parcells, Martin, napkin-gate, branch, trip-gate, camera gate, tamper gate, ..... ) and next comes deflate-gate (ok not 100% jester linked, at least not obviously to the bspn crowd that doesn't know about kensil/go-to-hell job history), but at this point you have to expect a joke verdict.

As for your 2d bold cmt,
Wells has to give his report up to the NFL, not to the press or RK. I wouldn't put it past roger-dodger to refuse to pay unless wells signs a non disclosure, then sanitize the report and release only the parts he wants to. GO-to-hell 'said' he would release the report, that doesn't mean he is obligated to by law or anything. And he lies about everything else, why not hand out a report and say it is all we got, and that actually not be whole report???

Hell maybe roger figures his days are numbered and he should just do all he can for the rats at this point until they run him outof town.

But I think he thinks RK doesn't have the nads to take him to court and there aren't enough owners who care as long as it's just the pats who get screwed --so he thinks he has free reign to make obviously slanted calls. He can just say complaints are sour grapes from cheaters and the bspn crowd will parrot that.

Is this the same stuff that Belichick was smoking when he drafted Collins?

I think you're thinking of Deus Irae, whose main issue was that we didn't address another position (safety, I believe) that he felt had better talent which was located higher in the draft.

I never had a problem with the selection of Collins, and was very happy with the fact that we robbed the Vikes of multiple picks.

Actually, I know exactly what I was referring to.

I was also making the point that sometimes the Realists and self-annointed Cynics dont have all the answers either.

Hope isnt always a bad thing. I'm glad this forum has its homers and its unrealistic optimists.

I'm afraid that I've offended you--so apologies if true. I was very seriously trying to respond to what I thought was a remark about how I felt about the drafting of Collins, since it seemed to be directed at me.

While we're at it though, one could argue that it may have been the same thing that he was smoking with the selections of Brace, Wilhite, Bequette, and many, many others. Not trying to be a ****--just showing you that your example goes both ways.

The draft genius which is Bill Belichick should never be questioned though, and I sincerely mean that. There are going to be hits and misses, and we've been lucky enough to have seen many more hits than misses. Anyone that has a problem with Belichick's drafting needs to have their heads examined, since he's proven himself time and time again.

Agree, and Pash was a major factor in the sideline camera matter in 2007. He has no affection for the Patriots. After seeing The Dope with Charlie Rose today, more and more I fear we're about to take a large one right up the wazoo, and about a week ago I felt very differently. I hope to god I'm wrong. I think the weak response to the Jets tampering was a statement by The Dope saying to Kraft, "I'm still in charge here, Skippy."

It's funny that you say that, because I just went on record yesterday saying that I was more confident than ever, but after seeing Goodell's comments today, I believe that he very obviously shifted the focus back to where he believes it should be, and/or may be tired of hearing about leaks that are shifting focus on the league.
