I had wondered about that too, and my wildly uninformed guess was "probably not." Here was my reasoning:
- As far as I know, he has never played on the left side of the line -- he was a RG & C in college.
- Not every lineman can play both sides. If you have strong handedness/footedness in one direction, it's hard to be equally effective reversing all of your motions. It's often said that a shift from T to G or vice versa is easier than shifting to the opposite end of the line.
- If Wendell could play on the left side, why uproot the incumbent RG last year? Wouldn't it make more sense to leave Connolly on the right and plug in Wendell on the left?
