Updates on Injuries to Sherman and Earl Thomas?

It's almost simplistically brilliant... Slater lined up against Sherman on one side, and Edelman, LaFell, Gronk, and Dola on the other?
That would be a huge mistake, if you avoid Sherman's side of the field all together then you allow them to cheat their safeties to the other side, and every pass you attempt is in heavy traffic.

See Week 1 GB at Seattle, GB put their #3 WR on Sherman's side, and never looked at him. Lost 36-16.

You've got to respect Sherman, but you can't be afraid of him.

If Talib got hurt like Revis did yesterday...not sure he would have come back into game. Talib is good...but soft

Revis wants a SB bad and he'd have to be on a gurney going to the ER for him not to play. He's a team player and not a candy arse like Talib.

All I know is I'm glad we finally have a healthy Gronk for the Superbowl. About time the other team has a key guy injured other than us not that I wish for injury or anything.
speaking of which...does anyone have a sense of Stork's status and possible availability.

Toss sweep and bubble screen (bunch formation) to LaFell to Sherman's side. Make him tackle and make him quit.

A heavy dose of Gray/Blount on Sherman's side will soften Sherman up for the 4th qtr.....Gronk isn't a hard hitter when catching the ball...he's more of a grinding drag along type picking up yds and players as he goes......

My drinking was interrupted yesterday, so i'm making up for it today :) Yes, but just thinking not so much being afraid of Sherman, but wasting his ability. If he doesn't match up well with shifty folk, then put Dola-dude or Edelman against him and create mis-matches elsewhere. Simplistic line-of-thought from me, but i'm just having fun at this point :)

this isn't an injury that is going to go away in the next couple of weeks. He'll play but he'll be limited in motion. As Brian Baldinger said on NFLN, Sherman is a press corner and needs BOTH hands to be effective at the LOS.

I thought GB made a huge mistake not trying to expose the one armed Sherman last night. I wonder if BB decides to test him early.

Sherman as a press corner won't be effective with a torn ligament in his elbow. First of all, he won't practice at all this week and probably most of next week. Second, when he does play, he'll have trouble jamming receivers at the LOS. I say go after him right away.

Mike McCarthy gets the bonehead of the year award.

I have to question how good Talib is in big games when he doesn't wimp out. Ty Hilton whipped him bad last week.
Hilton is a nightmare of a match-up for Talib. As is every lightning fast WR.

They will both undoubtedly play.
Hopefully 2 weeks will be enough time for them to heal up.

Brady should attack Sherman and Earl more than ever, give them plenty of work, he just needs to do it with the right matchup.Hell now i wouldn't mind him throwing 50+ time in no huddle, throw the entire kitchen sink on them.

Exactly. That was Jack del Rio 101 right there with his cookie cutter defense.

Talib is an outstanding corner when matched against a big, fast outside wide receiver in the mold of Julio Jones or Vincent Jackson, or even a player like Jimmy Graham. When matched up on a smaller, quicker player with good acceleration, he is going to get burned every time. His struggles to cover Steve Smith were well-documented and I recall him getting absolutely torched by Josh Gordon.

He would have been a perfect match to take Reggie Wayne out of that game. The Broncos then could have put Chris Harris (the best cornerback in the entire NFL, according to Mike Klis) on Hilton.

I'm amazed that these professionals sometimes fail to see the obvious that casual fans can easily observe.

Bingo!.........healthy or not you have to try and take advantage of any weakness he has and not play afraid.
