Greg Bedard dealing with Playoff Level Stupidity Listening Thread

Not sure why McDaniels isn't waiting. Might not have taken the job in Atlanta because of Dimitroff may be on the hot seat and only have one year to turn it around.

Said he doesn't get why Rex Ryan took the Bills' job. Not a great job to have.

When you set a record for coming back from 2x 14 point deficits, you are an amazing team and an amazing quarterback. The leadership alone earns you this. And it completely doesn't matter how you got into the hole. The fact that you could lead your forces out of that is in itself an amazing feat. Brady was the GOAT in this game.

And for me, the D-line would have received the third 'down' mostly for run D issues, but apparently somehow one of them was outstanding (srsly?). Or maybe Browner would have earned a down since I never saw anyone's head fly off (technically that's a down :) ).

Brady - helped the pats get into the 28-14 hole. Everyone was responsible for the slow start. Brady should have led Lafell one instead of a back shoulder

Not to mention taking a sack that put the Patriots out of field goal range and bad throws right after the McCourty INT that didn't translate to points.

A wonderful performance but not exactly a "12 and 52 screw-ups" game some seem to think here.

Good to see Bedard give Chandler Jones a kudos. It wouldn't be bad to review the Belichick interpretation of pressure vs patsfans.com.

Yeah I doubt this happens at all. They had plenty of time and were too dumb to notice what was going on. That's on them not the fact they had too little time.

Plus it's not like it happened once. They did it three times. The Ratbirds could have called a timeout after the first one, or the second, or seeing that wonky lineup a third time.

That is utterly ********.
Though I've found myself largely at odds with a few of Greg's opinions today (especially regarding Tom) I can't speak for how the offensive line did individually so much. I thought they had their struggles versus a tough defensive front but Tom getting the ball out lightning fast neutralized and covered up much of the OL's struggles.

Granted I can say with confidence that Vollmer did a good job and Solder (who I worried about) played decent too.

Just an idle thought that occurred to me and this thread is as good as any.

You want to know how good Darrelle Revis really is? Its when the guy you are guarding gets 3 catches for 60 yds and everyone thinks he won the battle.

Bedard - Colts win if they stay balanced. need to run ball well. Defensively, can not see how the Colts can win the game. Love Vontae Davis.

Felger - Why can't the Colts do to the Pats than they did to the broncos?
Bedard - Brady will not be as terrible as Manning.
Felger - Colts will not run the ball
Bedard - Colts needs to appear balanced
Mazz - Only way Colts win if the Patriots lines play poorly
Felger - Only way Colts win if they pass 60 times

Bedard is done. So am I listening to them.

Except Smith only caught 1 pass on Revis.

Mazz - Amendola not a cog in Pats offense
Bedard - Amendola was hurt last year. Did not get healthy until the middle of the season this year. BB wanted to reward DA for his hard work so he put DA on returns

I think BB likes Amendola. He caught a short punt once and ran it forward a few yards, BB went running out to him smiling and high fiving him like he won some thing. Told me that BB is routing for this guy.

Once again, Brady showed why he's STILL one of the top QB's in the league. We just have to come to the reality that he's NOT going to make the number of "I can't believe he fit that in" throws that Rodgers, Luck, and Flacco are. (though he will make a few ie TD to LaFell). We have to be satisfied he will make up the difference by NOT turning the ball over like Falcco and Luck do.
Not to sound like a total fanboy but I cant think of many QBs ever that can lead their team back from TWO 14 point deficits in a a playoff game.

Even better. :) I was just going to the fact that 3 catch 60 yds was Smith's total for the game, and everyone in the medal wants to give him the Medal of Honor for it.

I usually keep listening because why not? Yeah the other two have a tendency to be ass hats but it is still entertaining and still includes a lot of Pats talk. They were not listenable during the week when they blathered about Brady leaving New England but otherwise they've been slobbering over the Pats for much of the season.

I don't think their opinions are so egregious and idiotic as you'd sense reading this forum. Occasionally I cant help but roll my eyes but they aren't experts, they are entertainers for the most part. And they do their job very well. They get very high ratings.

That;s luck in a nutshell. And yet the media won't criticize him at all..some even saying there is nothing to criticize. The love for him is strong

They don't love him. They need him to be good enough to write softball stories about like they've done for Brady, Manning, Rodgers and Brees over the years.

Nobody in the press is motivated by anything other than manufacturing news.

Not many Robert?, Not ANY, brother. It had never been done in the history of the playoffs. It was an epic win for the TEAM. It was an epic effort by Brady too. You just have to acknowledge that he was directly responsible for one of those 14 pt. leads

Everyone who plays, even on a good days, has a few plays he'd like to have back. I can think of about 5 for Brady. But when you consider he was snapped the ball over 60 times, that's a LOT of wins too,. Perspective, Bob, perspective.
