Quest for the #1 seed

As long as the Chiefs don't run the table, the Pats can afford to have one, possibly two losses. I expect the Broncos to lose in KC and possibly San Diego.

I see pats at 12-4...13-3 will be tough to accomplish...but it can be done...next 2 if they go 2-0 we are locking up #1 IMO

so denver will beat the rams next week to go to 8-2...gotta keep up

The Rams have played spoiler several times this year against good teams, I wouldn't be shocked if the Rams win. If the Raiders didn't suck on offense, they might have made it a totally different game today vs. the Broncos since the Broncos played so bad on offense for most of the first half and the Raiders gifted the Broncos their first TD which should have been a loss of yards on 3rd and 8 turned into a 48 yard catch and run TD.

i would be 123% shocked if the rams beat the broncos

I think the Pats will be 13-3. I think they lose either to Green Bay or San Diego and win the rest. I think they match up well against the Colts (they do a good job turning over Luck and the Colts' defense isn't built to stop the Pats' offense) and the rest of the games are at home. I think 13-3 is very realistic and I would say it is likely.

Personally, I am more afraid of the Chiefs running the table than the Broncos.

I wouldn't bet on it, but I wouldn't be surprised. They have played all the top teams tough from Seattle, 49ers, and the Cards.

Rams are playing tough right now. They can get after the QB also. I would not be shocked if St. Louis wins

You got to be kidding. Denver is a really, really, really good team. The Rams are not.

And yes, the Pats are a really, really, really, really good team!

Your point mosi? Any given Sunday. Rams beat Seattle, played several really good teams tough. St. Louis can win this one a lot easier then most think

If the Chiefs finish behind Denver, then their record is immaterial to the Pats, assuming Pats win the AFC East.

Also, we have no tie breaker against Cincy. Their tie eliminates the chance of that.

IMHO, all of that is moot. We will either be #1 or #2. Book it.

As soon as Brady_to_Moss made the comment, I was patiently waiting to see which homer would come up with this comment first. :)

I say this tongue in cheek of course with no disrespect intended, as I think you are a high quality poster.

So does that make Rob the 'biggest' [your unstated adjective-synonym 'delusional'] Homer or just the 'fastest'??

(Rob, I would have said the same thing - Got your back.)

I still don't know what is wrong with what I said. The Rams have played good teams tough. It wouldn't be shocking if they pulled the upset especially with the Broncos having their third road game in a row.

I'm not thinking beyond next week. But with the AFC North a 4 team dogfight, a win over Indy plus a 2 game lead in the loss column (and a 2+ game lead in the division) would put the Pats in commanding position for a 1st round bye with 6 games to play.

Home field in the playoffs isn't automatic either. Since 2009 were 4-3 at home and 2 of those games were absolute domination by the Ravens

Not sure where you are going with this. We are 0-1 in the same period on the road. Nothing is automatic in the playoffs, but the Patriots are better at home than on the road, and by all accounts Foxborough is not a fun place to play in January for opposing QBs.

People are framing it(both fans and the media)as if we have home field were a lock for the SB and judging the last 5 years in the PS that's nowhere close to being the case

I watched marc Sanchez come in here and shred us at home in the PS.
