Rob Gronkowski injury: torn ACL, MCL

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

It's fun to respond to you because you're like a monkey who will perform every time—dance, monkey!

You’re also not very bright (which is obvious by your writing). I didn’t say a “worse blow” I said it was more depressing to me. Get it? I was sharing my thoughts on a fan board about how bummed out Gronk’s injury made me. ME. And then multiple times I said I had no desire to debate the point, I just found/find it really depressing. And this caused you to stammer and sputter with stuff like “put up or shut up.” You’re pathetic. Now keep dancing, monkey.
The only one playing the part of dancing fool is you.

We're all still waiting to hear why you felt going into 2008 that the defending conference champions coming off a perfect regular season would have a "lost season" in 2008. Please enlighten us all as to why gave you that unique insight.

What are the chances we sign Pitta or Pettigrew in the off-season?

Pettigrew is trouble and Pitta is more than likely going to command a better sum of money than the Patriots are going to be willing to dish out. The draft has some excellent TE prospects available that I expect the team to look at.

Re: Report: Rob Gronkowski tore his ACL

Go back and read the post you chose to ignore since I given you proof that you jubilant exuberation of being "right" is unfounded. I said I would admit I wrong if he misses more than one or two games. He could be held out for the first game or two as precaution.
Just about everything you've said about Gronkowski has already been discredited. Maybe one day you'll grow up and realize how you look so much less foolish by just admitting you were mistaken than you do by moving the goalposts and throwing personal attacks at the person who corrected you.
LOL! I love proving you wrong. It is too easy.
Thank you for that article. I admit, I did not realize how serious the Wilfork injury was. I was out of country at the time and while I saw the game, I was simply not following sports as much as I normally do and didn't get the analysis I normally would.

(See how easy it is to admit that you're not omniscient? See how much less foolish you look by saying "hey, I didn't realize that"..? Maybe someday you'll grow up and come to that realization.)

"the one positive is he should be 100% before the start of the season." - Rob0729

"Given how that injury looked, I have no faith that will be the case. Gronk is as tough as they come, but he's still only human." - SB39, in response

"Huh? A torn ACL is a torn ACL. Recent case history shows that a player who tears his ACL in December will be back and ready to play by the preseason. - Rob0729

then the next day....

"If Gronk doesn't play until November next year, I will admit I am wrong." Rob0729, desperately trying to move the goalposts and hope no one notices

Considering how cautious Gronk was with his arm, I can see him missing the first half of next season.
Be careful, my friend. I said a similar thing (actually I was a bit more optimistic) and I am still getting regular doses of hatred and venom from some other posters for those comments.

LOL! What exactly has been proven wrong. I said in terms of treatment, an ACL tear is an ACL tear. There is no difference between a partial tear or a complete tear. Both are complete reconstruction. How is that wrong? I said that players with the same injury who have had it later in the season than Gronk have come back for the entire season the following year. Where am I wrong there?

And yet, your analysis of that injury is 1,000% more informed than your analysis of Gronk's injury.

Thank you for pulling out my posts to show how I know so much more on this issue than you do. People who don't follow the entire thread may think I am unfairly picking on you, but than look at your posts and just think you are an idiot who is asking for the abuse.

Again, I used the November thing because with your medical experitise and deep examination of the injury (you saw the replay a 100 time), you threw out that November thing as a the timeframe. I was openly mocking you with the November reference. You keep talking about moving the goalpost.

For me, the worst thing about this injury is knowing that Gronk is going to take these shots again and again throughout his career. DB's, on top of not being able to hit high anymore, won't do it with a TE the size of Gronk because he's simply too big and will drag them if they try it. Hope the surgery goes successfully and he recovers well. Unfortunately, the guy has now missed time in the last three seasons, one exclusively in the playoffs. Without trying to sound overly negative, I hope the team has a better contingency plan going forward because, based on the evidence we currently have at hand, I don't think we can count on him for full seasons.

I have said that but some would dissagree and say his recent and prior injuries does not fit one who is injury prone.:snob:

I might take a shot at Dustin Keller. He is more of a Hernandez replacement, but he should come cheap coming off of injury. Granted his chances of being 100% is less than Gronk's since he blew out his ACL, MCL, and PCL.

Dustin Keller's career might be over. Have yourself a look at YouTube footage of the TE's coming out in the draft this year and you'll find yourself saying "Dustin... who!?". I would personally start off with Jace Amaro.

I revised my post a bit. His doctors think he can come back. It might be worth an unguaranteed veteran's minimum contract to look to see where he is in the preseason.

Lets hope a couple of more Juniors declare but they are some fine looking Seniors also.

I am really surprised at how no one thinks this is a low hit.

I'm sorry but it was a douchbag hit. I get you don't go high. The guy is 6'7"....seriously. Go look at that hit again and tell me it was not going for the knees.

Buddy needs a hefty fine as he altered a lot of $$$$ by planting that helmet on his knee.

It was a total bu11**** play.

That kid got off scott free, patted him on the shoulder.....he should have got punched in the face repeatedly.

Horse**** play....

:bricks:

The GIF has been posted around here several times. The helmet came nowhere near the knee. The shoulder pad hit the lower thigh and the knee buckled because the leg that was hit was firmly planted in the ground. It's unfortunate, but that's football for you.

I know it may be to soon, but is it fair to call gronk the patriots version of bill walton?

Walton and gronk are/were two unstoppable forces that just couldn't stay healthy.

Walton had chronic foot problems. small foot bones don't heal well.

Gronk does not have knees that attract safeties, arms that are more prone than any to break when a 270 pound outstretched player lands on them.

It's a ridiculous comparison. If he got hit by a bus, it wouldn't make him hit by a bus prone either.

Being injury prone literally means that a guy is prone to getting injured. That would, unfortunately, describe Gronk through the first three seasons of his career. Doesn't matter what the circumstances are and the fact that anybody else would have gotten injured from these hits are irrelevant. They've happened to Gronk and because of that, he's missed important games (particularly in stretch runs) the last two seasons and is about to do the same this season.

but gronk being constantly injured has cost the patriots championships just like bill walton used to.

"The next season, Walton and the Blazers appeared primed for another run at a title, racing to a 50-10 record. But injuries, including one to Walton, derailed the Blazers' season. When Walton returned for the playoffs in 1978, only to break his foot in Game 2 of the first-round series with Seattle."

does that sound familiar?

Scott Chandler and Garrett Graham are also free agents. I would like to see what Chandler could do with Brady throwing him the ball. He is a big boy 6'7" 260LBS.

I'll see you in August/September, when everyone will know I was right and you were wrong.

I'm sure you won't be man enough to admit it then, just as you're not man enough to admit it now.
