Tatum is this and that but Rodney Harrison is a "throwback"? Harrison plays the exact same way Tatum did. By the way, I saw the play happen, and it was just another late-hit football play until Stingley did not get up.
There's a huge difference, and it's called being a human being. I've got no problem with hard hitters, I've got no problem with going all out even in a preseason game. It's what happened after the fact that makes the difference.

If you seen Tatum in interviews over the years, you'll note a total lack of sympathy or concern over what happened to Stingley. Legal hit or not... the dude you hit will never walk again. A human being cares about that. On the contrary, when someone is lying on the ground after a Rodney hit, Rodney's right there on bended-knee with a look of true concern on his face praying for the guy to get up and be okay. In his heart, Rodney is a good man, I believe that sincerely. I never got that vibe from Tatum. Ever.

Bullsh!t on both comments,dude.

I saw the play too and it was late, it was going for the head, it was intended to injure.

Rodney is nothing like Jack tatum- nothing. I've never seen Rodney come in late that way, I've never seen Rodney go for the head with an intent to injure. Sure he goes after the big hit, but not late and not to the head.

Maybe you need to see a slow motion replay of Tatums hit. Watch his elbow swinging to the head. And he continued to do that many times after the Stingley hit.

A perfect example of the difference of the two is how Rodney acted when he ended Trent Green's season in a preseason game while he was playing for the Chargers. Rodney said he felt terrible about it, and that he never would want that to happen to someone, especially Trent Green, who was a friend of his. Harrison later states that he was so deeply affected by the media saying he hurt Green on purpose and that he is a terrible person that he seriously contemplated retirement. And that was only an injury that took away Green's season, not his ability to walk.

NFL-wise, Tatum is number one, two and three on my list. Romo four.
