Re: Dropping Red Zone tomorrow

The Pats lost, it sucks, but they didn't play well enough to win.

I am so sick of hearing that BS every time something like this happens. You don't decided if they played well enough to win. They do. Except they didn't have that chance because the refs made an error. If the ball is re-spotted and the Patriots are stopped on the final play, they deserve to lose. We will never know what could and should have been.

Re: absolutely terrible loss for Pats

off to the practice forum

I almost never question playcalls and I think McDaniels is a very good coach, but the game was lost on that 3rd and 1. The coaches knew we had no one healthy in the secondary and we were having a hard time stopping Carolina as it was. That was 4 down territory and it should have been two runs with Ridley. Without Talib and Dennard the Pats can't stop anybody and the coaches should know that and plan accordingly.

Oh my goodness, you people are ridiculous.

Fixed games? Really?

Is Ridley being paid off too?

This loss was about our lack of composure and great play from Cam.

We lost because our O-line sucked......we committed dumb penalties which put us out of scoring range (Mankins cost us 3 points minimum)......another Ridley fumble which cost us 3-7 points for sure.....and Talib was awful.

Cam was awesome...simply awesome. Carolina played mistake free football. They deserved the win....we deserved the loss.

Now stop being numbskulls.

Well said.

I'm usually not one to throw a loss on the refs, but they spit on their ****s and ****ed us on that one. I don't deny that Mankins did something stupid. He usually does in chippy games like this. The Ridley fumble was a killer. The Vereen drop was a choke. Even still, that was a ball that Gronk could have played and THEY PICK UP THE FLAG!? You ******* serious!? Scumbag zebras were more concerned with getting out of there alive than protecting the integrity of the game.

And the defense? Good to see the good old Pats defense that you can never count on to close out a close one rear it's ugly head. They bring that JV bull**** against Denver next week and the Broncos will hang 35 on us by halftime.

Regardless of any other calls made, or not made, in the game, picking up that flag was a ridiculously bad decision by the officials. When a ball becomes "uncatchable" BECAUSE of the actions of the defender, the ball was not uncatchable.

That's refereeing 101.

You are correct all those plays happened so did the final play. The Patriots had a chance to win that game. Poor officiating is poor officiating.

I don't believe in fixed games but sometime you just have to say WTF

As bad as that game ended, Pats are still in pretty good position. If it makes anyone feel better no guarentee they do win it with the ball at the 1. But, if they go out and beat Denver next week and KC beats them at home can at least hopefully force Denver to win 3 straight on the road to get to jersey. KC won't go very far with Alex Smith, although arrowhead is a tough place to play Pats can win there. Gotta help chiefs win that afc west.

BTW, the Panthers played well enough to win and they DID win. I'm not disputing that. What I want is the chance...the CHANCE...to go for the win after that CLEAR PENALTY. Now we all heard that old ref Seemans claim the ball was short so no interference. That is not even a QUESTION. Gronk was interfered with BEFORE Brady threw the ball.

No explanation. Flag. Oh wait. Nope...WHY??? no explanation...just no.

and you all laugh at me when I go on my Goodell witch hunts, eh? how many coinky dinkys is it going to take????

Absolutely correct Sir! this is even worse than the Jets game because the flag was thrown and then eaten. Apparently one of the officials didn't get the word from the commissioner's office.

The PI on Dobson's defender at the 36 was questionable. Cannon almost ended a guy's season and didn't get a flag. These things happen.

If you lose 'because of the refs' then you didn't do enough to win.

I'm sick of this type of argument. This is a season in which most games are down to the wire, in many cases due to our own mistakes. We can't blow out teams like before, so game winning or losing calls (or no calls) become all the more important. The Pats should have won both the Jets and Panthers games if a bad call or bad no call was made. The Pats and all of us have every right to be pissed.

You know, usually I like to say "it shouldn't have come down to that, blah, blah…." but you know what? The NFL is a game of inches and it often DOES come down to that. And for them to screw it up so monumentally that social media is exploding (and they're on our side!) is a pretty big deal.

You are absolutely correct….the refs only interest was in getting the hell out of there alive. There was nothing professional about it. They should never ref another game.

There was nothing wrong with the 3rd and 1 call. Brady had hit something like 11 in a row at that point.

There's a difference between "It didn't work out" and "terrible call". This one was in the "It didn't work out" section of life.

You really need to not exaggerate. Only ONE person said that Carolina was a crap team.

Maybe not crAp, but far from for real. They got lucky, and the pats carved out what the saints need to do to sweep them

My conspiracy is the patriots because of the tuck rule will never get the benefit of the doubt

what i learned
1-dmc is a smart elite safety like what you guys kept telling me
2 holding is cool in the endzone
3-and the o-line is still great

Can this troll please be banned.

It's always the wrong call if the players don't execute. Stop thinking so hard Deus.

We got F'ed big time. This is like that Green Bay game last year. And freakin horrible call. And we should have gotten it on the 1, and Tom tries his QB sneak. We should have had 1 more play on the 1. We got screwed big time.

Now lets get motivated and smash these Donkies.

Re: Re: The Official Patriots vs. Panthers Post Game Thread

Don't forget the ridiculous block in the back call in the first possession.

There were two plays on a Carolina during drive in the first where Chandler Jones took two shots to the face on separate plays. That's a long list for such a short game.

The Pats made a few mistakes - Talib's penalty, shoddy tackling on Newton's scramble, Ridley's fumble, Mankins' stupid penalty, the 3rd and 1 call. But on the whole, they played pretty darned well, especially offensively, against a tremendous defense.

All that said, the non-PI penalty literally could have cost them the game. No guarantee the Pats score from the 1, but obviously you have to like their chances from there. It was such an obvious and egregious penalty - the guy was two-armed full-on hugging Gronk, with his back to the ball making no play on the ball whatsoever. It was as egregious and blatant a penalty as there ever has been in the NFL. I am not exaggerating. How could it be more blatant than that? Maybe if he was looking back, or if he had minimal contact or whatever. But no. Back to the ball, two arms wrapped completely around Gronk, holding him from getting to the ball, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF, WHO ACTUALLY THREW THE FLAG!!!!

I'll almost be more pissed if the NFL comes out and admits that they blew this call, because then it would be TWO losses where the key play of the game turned on an admitted blown call by the refs.

Why so mad tho?

I mean you guys must know that this is like WWF since Goddell is here.

You know how many millions dolars cost a Patriots win today?

AFC East and NFC South decided. You know how many spectators, tickets, etc the NFL loses if the Patriots and Saints win the division by mid November?

I'm not even mad. Its what happens when you haave Vince McMahon runnning the show.

Goodell has bosses also. Gambling is a huge biz. I get that there are fixed games for a reason.

It shouldn't be that way though...

Re: Dropping Red Zone tomorrow

The game wasn't lost on one play, this is the second time it has come down to the refs and they don't play for your organization.

The Pats lost, it sucks, but they didn't play well enough to win.

The NFL isn't going to care if you overreact and cancel Redzone.

Just face it, the offense isn't as good as it has been with Hernandez and the defense has been devastated by injuries.

The offense played well, they just didn't have a lot of possessions. Didn't they only punt once? Besides the bad fumble by Ridley, that travesty at the end was the only other drive the O didn't score on.
