On Harmons INT

It was 4th down. Tannehill bombed it out about 50 yards. No one was remotely close by.

Harmon catches the easy INT. We get the ball around mid-field. If he simply batted the ball down, we would've gotten the ball around the Dolphins 10 yard line instead. He lost us a good 40+ yards because of the INT, and essentially made Tannehills pass a Punt.

Guess Harmon just wanted an INT on his stat line. It was a stupid play, but luckily for him there was almost no time remaining.

I'm sure BB will rip him for that. :bricks:

Seriously? The game was over. Let the kid pad his stats and enjoy what it means to "create/receive" an NFL turnover.

You seem to be the one lacking situational awareness, because him catching that ball didn't made any difference at all. Kneeling at their own 35 is just as good as kneeling at the Dolphins' 10.

You're trolling right?

Terrible play, picking off the QB to end the game. Harmon should be ashamed. I bet he gets benched for the first quarter of the Steelers game.

it's genetic...some of us are born with the "***** and cry" gene...

With 45 seconds left? I'll assume you are kidding, because there is no situational football that would dictate you smack the ball down up 10 points with 45 seconds left in the game. The Fish were out of timeouts. What situation would that be planning for, given the inevitable kneel-down?

Cut Harmon.

I think it'd be much more effect to bench Harmon on the final fourth down of the Steelers game. Don't give him the chance to pad his stats more!

put $500 on the black for me, B to M....

Game awareness must not mean anything to you, does it? Let's recap for a second.

SCORE: NE 27 - MIA 17
Time Remaining: 55 seconds
Down: 4th
Distance: 24
Yard line: Miami 10

So, the Pats are leading with 55 seconds left and it's 4th down for Miami. Whether or not Harmon catches the ball, the Pats win the game and get possession. They don't NEED to score because they are already leading by 10. So, just batting it down doesn't change anything since the Parts are just going to kneel down anyways.

Getting the interception, though, improves the defensive stats for the team, not just himself.

To say that Belichick is going to rip him for it is just silly. Especially since Harmon did the correct thing and went down immediately instead of trying to run time off the clock or do some hot-dogging. If anything, BB says nothing to the kid and the DB coach tells him good job on his awareness to just take a knee.

Pretty sure BB preaches "60 minutes" of football.

Not "59 minutes".

Pretty sure that he does as well, which is why you are in the wrong on this.

Pretty sure the INT clinched the game, and the location of the ball was irrelevant at that point

Nope. You're wrong.

The better play wouldve been to bat the pass down.

45 seconds left.... Thats plenty of time. What if Brady fumbles the kneel down and loses the ball, Dolphins return it for a quick TD.

Then they onside it and get into FG range.

You guys would all be ****ting on Harmon, but since everything turned out okay you guys are fine with him making the wrong play.

The game isn't clinched with 45 seconds left.

BB preaches 60 minutes of football, not 59 minutes and 15 seconds.

Quit trolling. The game was over, as they were up by 10 and were getting the ball, while Miami was out of timeouts.

Mods, where is the option to give a thread 0 stars? I've never felt the need to vote that low before, but I think this is a special case.
