The Argus Leader's Stu Whitney reported that Peterson was in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Thursday dealing with a "very serious" medical issue "involving (a) young family member that likely will be a police matter." ProFootballTalk confirmed that the family member is one of Peterson's son.

That is sickening. What kind of a rage must have possessed that demon to hurt an innocent child?? Gosh!!

Hope the kid makes it ok and once he grows up, personally beats the s**** of whoever did this.

I saw that terrible story. Monsters who have no impulse control and can't stand a little kid being a little kid (i.e. crying or misbehaving in some small way). Adults have to learn to walk away and take a deep breath rather than strike out, but many, sadly, have no capability to do so.

God bless the little one and prayers for a speedy and meaningful recovery. Poor Peterson too...

My prayers to Adrian Peterson and his family. I pray the little one has a complete recovery. Poor thing.

I hope they put that scumbag under the jail. Hell jail might be to good for him. I have no sympathy for people who hurt children. You are right. He is a monster.

They take care of people like that in jail. Even criminals know when things are out of bounds. you just don't hit kids.

I hope his son fully recovers.

10:16 AM PT -- Multiple sources tell TMZ ... Peterson's son is currently on life support and hasn't had brain activity since 5:30 PM last night.

We're told the family is monitoring the situation closely, and if there is no improvement in 24 hours, the mother wants to remove life support and donate the boy's organs to people in need.

10:00 AM PT -- Adrian Peterson's father has confirmed ... the injured boy is, in fact, Adrian's son ... but it's NOT Adrian Peterson Jr.

No. That's too easy. Got to keep him alive. Especially if there was permanent damage done. In which case, keep the slime alive and keep him in pain until medically impossible.

Luckily, crimes like this are reprehensible in prison. He will get what he deserves, if anything he will die more swiftly that he deserves.

I hope for the best for the Peterson family. This is a terrible event, which I would not wish on anyone.
