Joey Porter released

He's not a Patriots type player, and I would know because I've watched a lot of high school football.

But, if you can get him cheap and duct tape his mouth, he could serve a purpose.

I doubt he would want to come here. I'm sure over the years he has built up quite a dislike for the Patriots.

Three words: SIGN HIM NOW!

He is a "Patriots type player," as in an experienced 3-4 outside linebacker, veteran player, been in the league, might now have a chip on his shoulder after getting cut. Yes he runs his mouth, but you guys know we aren't all that sweet and innocent in the trash talking department, and honestly, Colvin and Porter on the outside has me salivating of QBs having nightmares of those two rushing them. Vrabel moves to the inside with Tedy, Colvin and Porter on the outside, bring in a couple of picks to learn from that foursome.

that does seem like a real nice Foursome. only problems being that Vrabel prefers the outside and might not like being forced out there prior to the season. He is a team player and will go inside like he has the past two years but he did that by need not choice.

It would be better if we had three player rotation on the outside anyway.

while I agree we need a three player rotation who is the rotational guy of this group. I don't see porter coming here to be a back up and colvin and vrabel have done nothing to deserve to be the rotational guy.

His next team are the new england patriots

Let's put the "lost a step" reasons to bed. The Pats signed Seau who had lost about 8 steps.

They would be pretty equal like Bruschi, Phifer, and Johnson were at ILB, and McGuinest, Vrabel, and Colvin.

This wishlist grows....

.... "kid in a candy store"?

i think he's going to negotiate his contract with the stealers.

I would take him over Seau if the price is right

Sign him up!!

He's not coming here. Nor would I want him here. He's a player known more for his mouth than for his hits.

I would love to add Joey Porter to the team. I think he would improve the team as did Bryan Cox, parttime player or not.

He is looking for a big payday. The Steelers released him because he was looking for a big contract extension.

As far as being a Patriots type of player, I have no problem with him if he can keep from giving the other teams bulletin board material. But I don't think we're likely to meet his asking price.
