It's easy, and only takes a few moments.i dont think the pats have a shot at signing him i think he stays with the ravens but why would anyone not want Ed Reed yes he's a year or two stop gap but who is the long term safety ? if its Tavon Wilson and Devin McCourty then im ok with that but if anyone thinks the pats are going to pay
What would be the better solution at safety for next year? Not very well written or thought out. I would assume that someone analyzing a safety's fit in NE would know we play LS and RS not FS and SS.
Ultimately, I agree with the conclusion that signing an aging and injury prone guy as a stop gap isn't the best solution (by the way George Wilson over Reed?) but the reasoning here was shoddy, IMO. We would be a better team next year with Reed than his solution, if Reed stays healthy, but this is a player who contemplated retirement 2 years ago and has started to show wear and tear. At the likely price tag, the player is worth it, but the risk of being without the player and wasting the money overcomes that IMO.
I've maintained all along that I'd rather not sign Reed, but I wouldn't be exactly heartbroken if the team went that route.
Just seems like there's a better way to use the resources than overpaying for a safety whose play is in decline. I'd prefer a more sustainable solution, myself.
Seems like a lot of people want a guy who's young, can cover, and can deliver big hits. Not easy to come by. I'd take Reed or Landry or even both if you can get away with a short and not too expensive contract. It's rumored Landry will settle for 3-4 million.
Landry is not coming here. He felt BB disrespected him last year by not showing up to last year's free agent visit. Even if he has got over it there is still the reason why BB didn't my assumption he didnt want him.

Problem is Landry sucks in coverage.
