Report: Gronkowski will try to practice this week

Didn't he have a plate a screws put in there....All he needs is to have a cast from the wrist down and he'll be good to go......for the last game of the season:rocker:

No. He will not be fit for the 49ers. And we do not need him for Miami or Jacksonville.

He needs to play at least one of those game. Jax works as its in warm weather. Just get him back to football shape and timing with TB.

Actually..no the opposite..you'd want him to play in the cold to contract the muscle around the bone and screws.....Holding on to the ball after the catch will be my personal primary concern....With all that being said....the final game of the season here against Miami would be his best option...even if he's only in as a blocker and decoy. Personally..I don't think he needs any "Gametime Reps." I think he can get what he needs in an amped up practice. Be ideal to keep him out until the first playoff game to let him heal properly!! 3+ weeks from now is the potential first playoff game if all goes well

No. I'd play him some against the Phins because the CBA does not allow those amped up practices of the past. Teams and players lose their timing without realtime game reps. Gronk will need a game to get back to form and figure out realtime how to control his body.

Isn't playing the LOLphins a glorified practice ?

Missed the 1st Pats-Phins game I see

Does anyone here actually watch the Pats games?

Yes, but I try my damnedest to not let them influence my opinions and preconceptions.

Zero - 0 - Nada - Zilch

There is absolutely NO chance Gronk plays this week

The Miami game is most likely,to put him back in against a sorry Jags team would also be a mistake when the Pats could probably beat Jax with Mallett at QB.

Let the boy heal properly.

It makes no sense to bring him back before the play-offs. Risking him this week makes no sense and they can clearly beat Jacksonville and Miami with him sitting.

I wish I was selling milk to Gronk. Can you imagine how much he's drinking? He's probably trying mentally to will the calcium into the area of the break in that arm bone...and it's probably working!

Gronk play against puny 49er humans!

Just saw the good news; would it be unmanly of me to 'squee' about it? :p

the notion that the Pats would "rush him back" is nonsense

when he is medically cleared, they will work him back in....period

their eyes are clearly on the prize.....they won't bring him back until he's cleared.....nor will they 'hold him back' to protect him

when he's ready....he plays.....period
