I don't like one bit this part of the report:

On the other hand, we need these guys for the Texans and Niners, or else Brady will be leveled by the pass rush of these teams. :(

Brady: "Hey Edelman, do you want to start at QB today?"

I'm failing to remember what players exactly, but I thought the 2003 team was at the time the Super Bowl Champion with the most games missed due to injury from their starters. This was only to be exceeded by the 2004 Pats. Maybe I'm mistaken though.

I would agree, however, that we were pretty healthy heading into the playoffs last year. Sure, we lost Carter, but you can't expect everyone to be healthy. While he provided solid pressure he was not considered by most to be a top 10 player on the team.

Carter made the Pro Bowl last year, one of eight on the team and only Carter and Wilfork were defensive players.

Man, JUST ONCE, I'd love to see what this team could do at full strength. That may not have happened in the last 10 years though, maybe the 2003 season might have been our best injury free season except for Rosie Colvin. 2004 season, Pats won the SB with 2 backup CB's (Law and Poole hurt), don't think that's ever happened before or since.

In 2003, they lost Compton early in the year. Then they lost Woody late in the season. That was the year that Klemm started out the season well, then went on IR with Ashworth taking his place.

That was also the year that they cut Lawyer Milloy prior to the start of the season. If I remember correctly, they also lost Ted Johnson. Ted Washington missed time.

Stephen Neal also went on the IR. So did David Patten. And that was the year they also put TWO long snappers on IR in Paxton and Sean McDermott.

Carter was a hit.

Bodden was already gone.

Dowling has yet to prove anything on this team so hard to count that one, for me.

It's like saying we're at a disadvantage because Demps is on IR.

Hey, I may change my sig to...

fnordcircle, "we're at a disadvantage because Demps is on IR."

I have given up on Glass I Dowling:DI am hoping they rest Jones and save him for the texans game.Along with Mankins.

Per the mediots Edelman has been cleared for limited practice, which is what he did. Not cleared for full participation or gameday. There is a 3-4 step/stage process they have to go through on concussions these days. Would be wise to be cautious since if player comes back too soon and experiences any after effects they can be gone a good while. They should be able to handle Miami with more ground game and screens and use of the two TE sets. And an opportunistic defense. And the motivation of hats and tee shirts.

Obviously, this is ultimately bad news...but you have to assume that none of the above (Mankins, Vollmer, Connelly) are going to do much on the first day of practice for the week when they all have missed gametime lately.

Managing injuries is key this time of the year, and Belichick has been pretty decent in that regard.

Just because they were held out of the first initial day of practice doesn't mean that they'll necessarily be out of the game, but I certainly wouldn't expect more than 1-2 at the most either.

Hopefully we can have them back for the 12/10 and 12/16 games which are still close to being 2 weeks+ away at this point.

Even getting 2 of the 3 back in the next couple/few weeks would be nice, as the other can sit for awhile longer if needed, so that they are fresh for the post-season.

Supposedly Jones will miss the game on Sunday

wonder how bad jones's ankle is...hopefully not hernandez bad

If I recall Hernandez had to be helped off by two people. Jones walked off the field on his own power with literally no limp.

While Jones being out hurts i'd rather have him for the two games coming up than against Miami and have a setback.

According to Tom Curran, Jones is out on Sunday. Of course, his information on Patriots injuries have not always been spot on. No reason to doubt him here though.

Doesn't really mean much when a player walks off or not. People tear ACLs and still walk off the field...you just don't know

One positive thing is that he was sitting on the sidelines after the injury. If it was really serious, he would have been taken to the locker room immediately.

I think it's more that jones isn't really needed

Shalise says Jones is still in a walking boot. Meanwhile Howe tweeted that Edelman was seen packing his road bag.

Good to see Edelman back, hopefully others will be back soon as well. Not that there is ever a good time for injuries but AHern back, Gronk with time to heal before playoff run and others rehab'in & suspensions out of'da way. Get this team back at full strength next month or so for push.
