it was high because of all the short passes. he had very few deep passes in the game.

That touchdown throw was the same exact pass as the seahawks game winning touchdown.

How about Steven Ridley today?

124 rushing yards on only 15 carries!

Vereen showed some potential too.

Chandler Jones with another nice sack. That's 6 sacks in 8 games.

Hightower played well too. Put a hurting on Bradford. They actually blitzed a lot on defense (like I suggested a few weeks ago) and it worked really well.

Let's also give our thanks for the usual fantastic job done by Walt Coleman, the greatest official to ever wear the stripes.

Free at last. Free at last. Thank Walt Coleman we're free at last!

There was one play that people can legitimately complain about without nitpicking. Should shut up a bunch of people on here for a while.

Oh wait, they'll all just complain about Ron Brace getting hurt...

Uh oh, I knew this was coming. A great game, and calling out the realists already. Thats a surprise. Anyway, this was an awesome game. I'm in a really good mood even with a huge storm barreling down on us. Lets not all come out of the wood work after weeks of playing horrible and insult the people with their feet on the ground.

Pats are 5-3 and firmly in control of the AFC East going into the bye! Perfect position to be in, and let some guys heal up some more! Gronk looking like his usual Beastly self! I think he's finally healthy!

What do they put in the food in the UK? Cos our defense can use more of that cooking! Really a lockdown, dominant performance excepting the first drive by the Rams.

Awesome victory for the Pats! They really put up an exhibition of American football to be proud of! The Rams... not so much. LOL almost feel bad for them. They really got embarrassed on the World stage.

Just curious why you state the Pats are "firmly in control of the AFC East going into the bye"

Well they started the season with a solid performance and a complete game and then ended the halfway point with the same. Great note to go into a bye on.

Limited the big plays, decent pressure on defense. The Rams aren't going to get confused for the Packers, 49ers or other top tier teams but who cares, I'm just happy we had a solid game all the way around.

Now to rest, get healthy and build on a much-improved performance by both the offense and defense.

I really want to see more of Cole and Dennard as our corners with McCourty and Tavon as safeties as a base look. I'm a big Moore fan but his coverage hasn't been as good as it was in the tail end of last season.

Up there with Big Bang Clock fame

My favorite kind of Pats game. I was relaxed from the Pats TD all the way to the end, except for the injuries, but Welker looked o.k. and he and Cole and the others have a by week in which to heal.

whooohah Pats!!!!

Where are all the threads with people whining and complaining? Oh wait, the Pats won...:rocker:

I like it when the forums are quiet, it's usually a great sign...:D

These people that I'm referring to have made posts asking if Brady has lost is magic, saying that Lloyd isn't an upgrade over Ochocinco, and that the Pats were guaranteed to give up 350 yards and 4 TDs to the Rams. If those are realists, then this forum's a lot worse off than I thought.

I do love the irony of posters complaining about complainers. :p

Great win. It gives a fan hope to know that the offense is capable of this type of game because it means they can beat anyone on the right day. As we all know, the NFL is about getting hot at the right time for a string of games. No reason Pats can't be that team.

That's assuming they can stop blowing two score fourth quarter leads of course ... ;)

I agree. The Patriots are firmly not in control of the AFCE. They do lead the division (good thing!) and have a loose grip on the lead. But the Phins are too close (1/2 game) for it to be anything but a loose grip.

The Phins next 4 games are Indy, Tenn, Buff, Seattle.
The Patriots next 3 is Buff, Indy and Jets.

The Patriots need to take care of business (this is the minimum) against the Jets and Buff. Then they need to beat the Phins. At that point we will be able to say the Patriots have a firm grip on the division. The only thing that would change this is the Phins going 2-2 over the next 4 (if not worse).

Ok, I get that. But what about the spike where he was walking with high steps?

Call me crazy but I think the play that changed the game was the 4 &1 at the goal line. Kick a field go there and the Rams will be invigorated that they made a stop. Not punch it in and we will be the ones who are deflated.
I just wish we had gone for it as well in Baltimore and at Seattle when we got into similar situation and chickened out.

What a great game for the Pats and their fans (us!:D).
A nice blow out win over the Rams and we are thumping our chests again.
Feel much better about this team right now.

That one Chandler Jones play....where he barreled through the line and tripped up Bradford was nice, very, very nice.

Man I needed this game. Awesome team win. All the negatives from previous games showed massive improvements while playing a team thats on the rise. Hats of to all phases. Coaching was the biggest improvement this week. Timely blitzing on D along with much less predictable offensive play calling was awesome. This Pats fan will enjoy the schedule break and look forward to the Bills. Zero negatives from me and thats saying something!
