Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

We lost because we were outplayed and completely outcoached. And when we were handed the game regardless on a silver platter, we decided to pass.

I didn't realize Brandon Spikes asked nicely and was handed the ball, I thought he made a play and took it away.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

Yes, we lost this game...but it seems like we have a game like this every season, where the offense plays horrible, then turns it on in the 4th only to lose..

I remember last season after the Buffalo game(and the steelers game) this whole site was in panic about how horrible we were, we had no chance...and we seemed to do just fine after that game.

losing Hernandez sucks, but it was bound to happen at some point....this will be the 3rd season in a row he has been injured....at least it looks like Edelman is serviceable as the 3rd WR until he gets healthy...5rec, 50yards

Let the fans b1tch will ya' ... it's a mourning process that will help in the healing process. :bricks:

Clutchness really needs to be a stat kept in every professional sport. This team has lost SOOOO many important games because of a willingness to rely on choke artists.

Go away you boring troll.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

I'm not going there. The Cardinals played with more heart than the Patriots for most of the games. They deserved the win. I do wish someone would explain what grounding is to these new refs, though.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

Sorry. But the O didnt want us to win the game. Not the refs

Actually I saw Danny Woodhead make a beautiful game winning touchdown run behind some solid blocking.

Looks like they wanted to win to me. The refs took it away though.

Patriots 5th quarter just said that AH has a high ankle sprain from what they are hearing...several weeks possibly.

Oh yes.. he asked nicer than the man who asked for some Grey Poupon.

Without AH i have a feeling we could start 1-2

McDaniels seemed clueless out there

did you see near end of game. He's looking at one of those snap shots,
seems to see something and tries to get Brady's attention. Brady just
nods and then looks back to the field seemingly to say "yeah .. so what"
Hey Josh 3rd and short and you need to keep the drive going and you
call a run play. Think they would expect that? Why not try a little deception
Josh.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

I'm not panicked. I am pissed that the Pats lost, but ultimately they deserved to lose. It was just a bad game by the offense, the coaches, and to an extent ST (blocked punt!). I'd rather have a wake up call now than halfway into the season.

Hope Hernandez isn't out for too long or the entire season. Pats, get your **** together and pull out a reassuring win in Baltimore.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

You forgot the AH injury and Brady INT he caused.

heh

????????????? Brady's INT was tipped at the line & two Cardinals tackled Edelman on top of Hernandez. Please explain your post ?

Cards didn't deserve to win.

You're team is only as good as you're 53rd player. You gotta play 60 minutes of football.

Pats should've won fair and square.

I haven't looked at the replay so I can't echo that right now, but that further highlights WHY you don't just settle for a FG attempt when the chance is right there for you to get it another way. Bad snap, poor hold, too much going on there to settle for a long FG

The kick was on third down too. Holder is permitted to stand up and clock it without taking an intentional grounding. Then you kick on fourth down. Needs to be told by special tems coach that is an option on a bad snap.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

im more worried about the hernandez injury than the loss.

i don't think hernandez would have made a difference in the quality of how the offense played today. brady was awful.

We had a bad game, full of mistakes, and we were a last minute FG away from the win. Form is temporary, Class is permanent.

I'm depressed about AH though :(

Re: Josh McDaniels Was pitiful..... He cost us the game

The worst call was McDaniels calling for Brady to overthrow a wide open Gronkowski in the end zone. A good OC would call for a completion.

Or how about when he told Welker to drop an easy third down reception that went right into his hands? What was McDaniels' thinking?

McDaniels lost one of his most pivitol pieces of the offense early in the game and had to adjust as he went along. He wasn't helped out by the execution for a large part of the game.

McDaniels didn't call a great game, but he certainly wasn't "THE PROBLEM" on the offense. A lot of bad passes, dropped balls, and missed blocking assignments.

Re: Everyone needs to calm down

Looking at our schedule, one loss here is not going to kill us.

Just need to make sure we beat the Jets.

Mostly, it was just a crap day, and the game was basically decided my two blown plays (the blocked punt and Arrington's missed tackle on Heap). I really only have two takeaways that are ongoing concerns:

1. We need Connolly back. Thomas is terrible.
2. These refs are absolutely terrible. The NFL and the real refs need to reach an agreement, because the current crews are making NFL games noticeably worse.

Re: A Ref did NOT want us to win that game.

The regular refs make bad calls that blow games too. Still needed to win the game despite the call, but we did not.
It happens.
I'm glad I don't feel entitled that the team owes me wins, because I'd really be freaking out and whining right now instead of recognizing losses, including losses that you coulda, shoulda, woulda won happen.

im a big fan of losses that teach you and correct the ship. The pats lost to the redkins, an inferior team, back in 2003...and they then won 21 straight. hopefully the coaching staff will kick their rear ends in practice and they'll be ok for baltimore.

I agree but coaches better get on themselves because they were a big part of this one today.
