The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

I'm very disappointed in some of the people here for still making fun of the Jets even after their offensive explosion last night. That juggernaut of an offense doubled its previous season high in points, after all.

Hey, you know the best part about the no TDs in pre-season;

They have already announced they are sitting and resting BOTH SANCHIZE and TEBOW for preseason 4.

So, if they do miraculously score a TD we can have a 3-WAY QB CONTROVERSY :singing:

And let's not forget that the Jets are playing vanilla offense because Ryan and Sparano don't want to unveil their offense on the world until the start of the season. Sparano is so innovative of an offensive mind that he doesn't want to reveal that he is bringing the wishbone and the statue of liberty play back to the NFL this year.

I watched the entire game....or well most of it. I can't believe how Jet fans would be so happy.

Sanchez - Unless he is throwing in rhythm and on time, he is in trouble. He rarely throws a ball past his 2nd read and less than 10 yds past the LOS. Its like Sparano has set him up at the NFL offensive kids' table. He can only throw slants, dump offs, short outs and his favorite seam pattern off of play action. Teams are going to figure that out. So completing "77% of his passes isn't going to mean much (even if his receivers catch them) if when you add them together, they don't add up to a first down.

Also, while the pick wasn't his fault, no on is mentioning the 2 that were flat dropped.

Hill - I'd love to have that kind of prospect on the Pats....but not starting. That kid is really raw. He's scary, but no close to reliable.

OL- I have to laugh. Its like they have solved all their OL because Austin wasn't horrible. I mean, the Pats give up 4 sacks in 3 games and we are pulling out hair out. The Jets STILL had 3 sacks in one game.....and declared it a VICTIORY! :D

Think about this as well - This is an OL with supposedly 3 all pros and geared to run the ball. Well guess what? They CAN'T run the ball. Again, we had people ready to jump ship because in the Philly game we didn't average over 5ypc like we did the other two. The Jets can't average 4ypc in one game.

The Defense - Well.....that looked pretty good.l But I do have to admit that it wasn't vanilla. They threw everything at the Panthers. The came and they came a lot....and did it pretty well. Granted, Carolina didn't have any real receivers to challenge them, and I think Newton is going to have a tougher year than most expect; the Jet defense could win them some games....if they stay healthy

I think the Jets defense looked good last night, but Newton has one of the slowest releases in the NFL (although not as bad as the two QBs the Panthers faced last night). Also, Steve Smith was the only Panther WR last year to get over 500 yards and replacing their WR with the second most yards with Louis Murphy isn't a huge upgrade.

The Jets defense played well, but the exuberance should be tempered.

Also, the Panthers' defense sucks. Last year, they generated little pass rush (they were 24th in sacks with 31), they allowed opposing QBs to complete the third highest completion percentage of any defense with 64.9% completion percentage, and they were worst in the league in yards per passing attempt with 8.4 YPA.

Hey Tune, here's a quiz for you.

1) I was driving home from work today and I totally __________ that stop sign.

2) I as trying to get to the store before they closed but I was too ________ to get there in time.

3) I felt so _____________ after being invited to such a lame party last night.

a) Bart Scotted
b) Wayne Huntered
c) Mangolded

Well, they're all Jets so I'd just say "jested," which covers every scenario.

Cute bit of wry sarcasm from Wrecks:

Then there was Tim Tebow (4-for-14, 55 yards, five rushes for 45 yards). Tebow still looks much better as a runner than as a thrower. When Tebow throws it, you can never be sure exactly where it’s going.

He threw a bad interception on a pass over the middle, and another of Tebow’s passes should have been intercepted, but it was dropped. One of Tebow’s passes Sunday night was so wickedly off target, it sailed way out of bounds and slammed into a Jets banner against a sideline wall.

"He threw it so hard, I was glad it never hit a cheerleader," coach Rex Ryan joked afterward.

The ' Bama backup is probably the most talented, and under Saban the best coached of the three, as well...

I think we should all take a moment to remember that, within the last month, Jets fans declared this the most talented team the franchise has ever had.

Rex ryan must be helluva motivational speaker, the moment a player becomes a Jet he thinks he is a hundred times better than he actually is ....

Coples' attitude is no worse than the rumblings we've been hearing about Jones and Hightower......

Oh wait! We haven't been hearing about ANY similar issues with Jones and Hightower since BB avoids drafting "Me-First" guys with suspect motors in the 1st round.

10 wins...LOL.

Look, Rex had a great run the first two years. 2 AFC Championship games and b!tchslapping your biggest rival in their own house in the playoffs AFTER telling them all week that you would. But as tends to happen with teams where the players are a volatile mix with no voice of reason or positive leadership, things eventually fall apart and everything went south last year. There is no way to right the ship until new leadership in the locker room and on the coaching staff is installed. And no amount of Tebow magic can fix it...this team is screwed with a capital S.

Check out all the Jets fans who thought Gaffney was crap before this afternoon advocating to sign him because he would be an upgrade to their receiving corp.
