I was screamin for Julius Peppers to come here couple of years ago. Our pass rush cost us possibly a Ring or two. Getting C Jones who happens to model his style and self to him isn't such a bad thing to do. Havin Jones like a Younger & motivated Peppers type would just what we needed. His attitude looks to be on same page As BB. Read More...........

Finally, some swag on defense (him and Hightower). Would love to see one of them eventually steal a C from the unconfident McTorchy.

Agreed, Need some attitude along with pass rushing speed. With J.Jenkins in 2nd round possibly available, wouldn't mind BB getting him maybe Mac playin S on regular basis.

BB picked him because we're in desperate need of a pass rush... and we just lost Mark Anderson and Andre Carter.

Also sick of having day 2 busts like Cunningham and Crable. So finally he traded up and got someone he's confident will be an effective pass rusher

These 2 moves were a NO BRAINER! enough of last place D givin up like 400 yds pg. Get a bonified/above avg CB along with old/new and we finish what we started in Sept!

Most of what I have heard today, is that this guy will be very good, but not expected to be an immediate impact player... may show signs as the season progresses.

You really NEVER know.

"Sure thing" prospects like Aaron Curry become busts.

But then there are guys like JPP and Aldon Smith that are supposedly "projects" and start beastin' in their rookie years.

He didn't select a guy at 21 so he could ride the pine and learn. That's what late round picks are for. He may not be a full tine starter, but Belichick has a plan for these guys.

Saw also a comparison to JPP on Giants. Raw talent with lots of room for improvement. Never know could be a difference from Game 1 on.

I think he's more likely to be an Allen Bailey type or Justin Smith. Has the frame to get to 280 lbs, can be used inside or even as a 5-tech in some situations.

Edit: I meant in the longer term.

See him as an impact player from git-go with skys'limit potential is a dangerous combo. Best thing is he's motivated, ready to go.

He looks to have Willie McGinest type size with Dwight Freeney's ceiling.
Alot to be excited about but he'll still be a rookie in a BB defense,so he has a long way to go :)

Nothing like putting pressure on the young man huh ?:p

I'm thinkin on lines of Allen Bailey also. All these comparisons don't hurt just be Chandler Jones: Line Wrecker! One more comparison, how'bout takin after his Great Grandfather Deacon Jones....ULTIMATE Comparison.

I don't know much about his brother Arthur ( though his advice is pure class) but if you follow MMA, you have to be optimistic about a brother of Jon Bones Jones.

So much of football is about attitude, while some is about physical size/ability. Jon Jones is a positive achieving ever improving success machine and i have to believe this kid must have some of that attitude rub off on him. Of course production is important, but in a brief 4 year showcase, interrupted by injury, the most production doesn't always indicate the most potential.

I'm just so psyched by both these picks. It seems BB has really got some football players, instead of twitter reality show contestants.

He was the 21st pick. He will see a lot of playing time this year. Like someone else said..the #21 pick usually won't be sitting that much

But you never do know, he has had an injury... and missed a lot of last year, he is young and still developing, he comes from a "lesser" program has not faced the competition of a conference like the SEC.. but has tremendous potential and will probably be great, in time.

We will see...
