There is no logic to him being a fit in New England, he doesn't fit here for a variety of reasons that have all been covered in this thread.

The first thing they must teach you at the Church of Tebow is to call anyone who disagrees with you a Tebow hater and claim they're the ones obsessed. Because it's the same comeback time after time.

I come here to discuss the Patriots, if people want to endlessly talk Tebow than please go hereTim Tebow Forum - Topix and leave us to discuss our team

Whats changed since 2010? The Patriots(Belichick) had a visit with him and a private workout. They wouldn't do that if they weren't interested in him. In fact all thats changed is that the man that drafted him is back in town in charge of the offense. I think its realistic to think the Patriots would be interested in him.

OK give us some logical reasons then. And paying someone guaranteed millions to try another position or take Brady off the field don't qualify as logical.

I'm having a little fun with the faith issue because it's the only explanation why people go bat**** crazy for this kid, it's certainly not because of his quarterbacking abilities.

OK, here's some logic:

1. Josh McDaniels drafted him.
2. By all accounts BB likes him.
3. BB has demonstrated his willingness to think outside the box to create mismatches. Used correctly, Tebow is a mismatch waiting to happen.
4. We have no backup for Hernandez. Whilst not an exact replica, Tebow suits an H/Back role that could be utilised if Hernandez goes down for any length of time.
5. Tebow's history is about winning. He clearly has a drive that I think BB will recognise and appreciate.
6. Tebow is a guy that rises to a challenge. He might not be a great QB now but he's better than when he came into the NFL. Whilst I don't ever see him becoming any type of QB for the Pats - should he continue to improve, a low trade investment now might reap greater trade rewards in the future - we would be buying low owing to Denver's desperation. And what does that spell? V-A-L-U-E
7. He walks on water...Damn!!! :bricks:

I am going to be honest, I only read a few pages of this but here are my thoughts on Tebow and the Patriots.
1. I think the BB would love to have Tim Tebow on his team, other than the fact that he cannot play QB, he has shown to have that "it factor" quality that so few people possess and he has the ability to motivate and unite players to make them better than they probably are.

2. That being said, I doubt BB realized what kind of circus would follow Tebow around. His ability to engage his teammates has gone far beyond and created a cult like following off the football field that would be way too disruptive for BB locker room. The constant questions toward BB and toward TB would be too much. That negative outweighs his positives right there

3. How do you use him? Obviously he would not be playing QB here, but would BB want to create a sub package like Denver was running? I think we all feel BB is too smart to take his best player (TB) off the field so we can run an option offense that he himself showed the rest of the NFL how to defend in last years playoffs. Does he play H-back/TE? Again, do you want to start to take away snaps from Aaron Hernandez to get Tebow on the field, I wouldn't.

Just because McDaniels drafted him and BB most certainly liked him coming out of college, his dynamic personality is almost too big to have on a team that prides itself on no one individual player, and for that, I say it will not happen.

I'll show you a gif and when it happened I was extremly worried for a few a short while, luckily Brady wasn't injured but I'd like to have some sub-packages where somebody else takes his place on the goal line. Not saying Tebow is needed for that btw, just saying that I don't like to see Brady do this.

I'm not convinced, more speculation than logic.

That is why we need Mallet around and not Tebow. We need the legitimate backup QB.

There is a fit for him here, he can run the ball very well. I don't knwo how well he can block or how well he can catch but if he can do that well he can easily become a potent weapon in the offense.

And some logic against a Tebow acquisition:

-As much as BB may like Tebow, he hates media hoopla, controversy, divisive or controversial characters in the locker room, and hype. Tebow brings all of the above due to his fanbase.

-Tom Brady. The ravenous Tebow fanbase would certainly call for Tebow anytime Brady, the greatest of all time, made so much as an incomplete pass. Brady knows this and I'm sure he has no time for quarterback controversies, especially when the controversy is with a guy who can barely play QB.

Makes a lot of sense for them. One question though. How many times did they pass on Mallett in the draft last year? Four times. Not sure they love Mallett that much.

They also might have thought he did more drugs than Charlie Sheen and would make PacMan Jones look like a choir boy with all the rumors circulating about him. Since he's been a model citizen since joining the Pats their interest might have increased.

While that's possible, neither Breer nor Bedard seem to share that view, given what they've said/written on the subject recently.

This, it would be a complete and utter Circus. Not only in the locker room but on the field as well. The first time TB misses a pass or has had a bad game people would be yelling for Tebow. Thats surely one way to destroy a team.

Totally agree. Total circus. And undermining Brady's status as the leader of the team? This team would go to chaos.

I PRAY he's not picked up just because of his relationship with McDaniel. That worries me because it happens all the time with QBs (ie, Crennel picking up Quinn in Kansas City).

No they would not. There's a pretty big difference between Tom Brady and Kyle ****ing Orton. Orton was a bum and Denver never won with him. The fans were right to call for Tebow. It turned out pretty good for Denver, in the end.

I can't imagine Brady ever being so bad that Patriot fans give up on him. It's a ridiculous notion. Everyone knows Brady's the only reason we ever win anything in the first place

Tebow is as much of a role model as you could hope for. He lives and breathes the "Patriot Way", and he's not even a Patriot. He would have absolutely no problem fitting in, so don't go that route

Breer was talking about it on the radio (98.5) today. Bedard's was a tweet answering the question about where Mallett would go if he was in this year's draft, where Bedard said he'd still go in the same place.

Josh knows the kid because he drafted him. BB obviously has always been impressed with him. As is sounded so ridiculous at first,.....but then I wonder. He is unquestionably a leader. Is Hoyer? That is an unknown. He is probably fine. Can Tebow will a few wins for the Pats with obviously much more offensive talent? Yep.

It is interesting. I hope the Pats would trade for him only if they use him and not be a poster boy for "I wish my kid was like him". I think Miami ruins the kid ad does Jacksonville. Although Gabbert to Denver in trade makes sense is some ways.
DW Toys

But aren't we really looking for a QB to win games because he plays well rather than because he can't get points on the board, and has to will wins?

The only circus would be a media created one and BB doesn't give a monkey's about them. As for people calling for Brady to be replaced after one failed pass as someone said. What a load of crock! I haven't seen a single argument here arguing for Tebow to come here as a QB. It's his role as a creative H-back type that interests some. And I suspect that Tebow would be a model citizen in the dressing room - undermining Brady's status as leader? Quite the opposite I suspect.

Ok, based on what? Everyone thought he had top 10 talent but there were big character concerns which dropped him, have there been incidents recently which would keep his stock down?
