Manning to Broncos

This tells us that Peyton is not about winning. If he was about winning, he'd be signing a deal in San Francisco.

My guess is that it had something to do with the Broncos' willingness to completely revamp their offense for Tebow last year. If they'd do it for him, then they'll sure as hell do the same for Manning, and that kind of control is really important to him. Harbaugh seems like he might be more of a "we have a system in place, work with it" sort.

I'm surprised, I thought it would be either Titans or 49ers. Elway was, indeed, desperate to move past Tebow. I'm not convinced Denver goes that far in the playoffs even with Manning.

I see your point, though Denver has an easy division, and arguably has a better chance to win than any of the AFC options. I also tend to believe that the NFC was ruled out because of the whole brother-in-the-same-conference thing.

Well, I guess he figures the thinner altitude will make it easier to hold up that big pumpkin on his injured neck. Sorry I am too lazy to look - do we play Denver next season? Any time soon?

Pats come to Foxborough. My guess is on a Sunday night in November.

Why is it everyone trashed Lebron for going to the most stacked team and now the people are trashing Peyton for NOT going to the most stacked team???

Have to wonder if Elway is happier to have Manning, or is more relieved to be able to ship out Tebow?

My guess is that Tebow ends up in Miami.

I think Denver had to substantially improve its team just to make it back to the playoffs, since they can't rely on the luck that they had last year breaking their way again. This will get them back there, but I agree that, depending on the state/health/age of their secondary, they might be in trouble still regardless.

Of course, when you have Miller and Dumervil, your secondary doesn't have to be great anyways. If they can cobble something reasonably competent together back there, they should be fine.

I expect the Chiefs will win that division this year. Denver's defense is now going to be facing passing barrages, since teams will be worried about shooting matches, and that defense will be toast anytime the Dynamic duo of Miller and Dumervil can't get to the QB.

The Patriots showed how to slice up that defense last year. Teams will be doing that a lot this year.

Manning/Elway are in for an embarrassing ride.

LOL - Is this a Freudian slip? I take it you mean the Broncos come here next season? If so, oh yeah, it will be prime time.

I see Denver as the best situation for Manning.

I think the rest of the league has noticed how good Brady was in the no huddle offense.

In Denver, Manning is going to run opposing defenses into the ground in that thin atmosphere. Going to Denver to play Manning is going to be death for a lot of teams. They will be 8-0 up there. They finish 13-3 for the season.

Next year's AFC championship is Patriots v. Broncos.

I just don't know which stadium will host it.

Manning was cut. Lebron was still wanted by his team. Manning chose an existing team. Lebron was creating his own team with Bosh and Wade.

Huge differences...

In essence, Manning passed up going to the best EXISTING team. Lebron screwed over his team and went elsewhere to form a so-called super team.

I'm not sure, since I never really trashed LeBron personally, but I'd be willing to bet that it's two things:

1) Basketball vs. Football: basketball players can singlehandedly take over a game (and a franchise) in a way that no football player--not even a quarterback--can.

2) Age: Peyton's probably retiring in the next 3-5 years, and he's already past his prime. He doesn't have enough career left to really build a team around him. LeBron, OTOH, probably had another decade-plus of elite play left in him at the time of the decision. He could go to any team in the league and, as long as the front office was competent, they'd be competitive in short order. Even in Cleveland, they were a championship contender with one of the worst front offices in the league.

You're eating the wrong kind of mushrooms. :D

No. nonono!

I would love to see Tebow on the Pats if it weren't for the media circus that would follow him. Plus all his God comments would get criticized far more in this area of the country.

He isn't going to Jacksonville since they already signed Henne so I have no idea where he will end up.

I wish Peyton well. But I don't see them winning that division next season. San Diego always had Peyton's number & KC looks to be headed in the right direction. Now everyone wants to see what Denver's going to do with Tewbow. The 49ers now have to convince Alex Smith they still believe in him. Talk about hurt feelings. Thanks to Peyton for all of this controversy.

James was a free agent, how is choosing another team "screwing his team," it's his right to sign where he chooses?
