Media Predictions: AFCCG, Ravens at Pats

Fred Toucher has been going off all morning about Patriots fans being babies because they are getting on Breer for his pick because Pats fans get on anyone who picks against the Pats. He doesn't get that most of us are not ticked off that Breer picked the Ravens per sea, but has been his inexplainable hatred of the Pats where he goes on 98.5 every week and proclaims "X team is a much tougher match up for the Pats than people think" "Or the Pats are going to have a fall somewhere down the stretch and I think it will be this week" only to see the Pats win by double digits.

Every fan base have a group of fans who will turn on a media person when they say anything remotely bad about their team, but Breer doesn't fall into this category. He has been talking down the Patriots all year and predicting they will either fall or win a nail biter since the Giants' game and has been wrong almost every week (well, he got it right once with the Redskins although I think he picked the Skins to win, not lose a close one).

I just had to post this...why? cuz I can, that's why. For all you who believe in superstition/jinx's, this one's for you! ;)

I like that Harrison, Jaworski and Golic like the Patriots and over on NFLN, Sapp and Faulk like the Ravens. Rodney has been good at not being a homer the way Bruschi is.

Marshall Faulk is wrong about so many things - shouldn't he be evaluated for a concussion and spend some quiet time in the "Dark Room?"

Denver Broncos homer Tom Jackson picked the Ravens, too. I guess the Patriots will lose because all the players hate the coach! What a dork.

Breer's credibility is sinking fast with this post season. As mentioned earlier in this thread, he predicted that last week's game against Denver would be a close one with the Patriots winning late by only 3. At 21 - 7 in the second quarter that game was over.

Then this morning he said that although he picked both the Packers and Saints to win last week, he really, really, really wanted to pick the 49'ers and the Giants, but didn't do it. So, now he's picking the Ravens to win because somehow the Packers and Saints (both with high powered offenses) losing their games means that the Patriots (who also have a high powered offense) will lose as well.

I didn't think there was another job out there besides weathermen that allowed you to still collect a paycheck while being wrong most of the time.

Ok, here is the big one. The one everyone has been waiting for. The one that is money in the bank. The one that is more objective than any other expert pick in the media.

Fred Smerlas predicts:

The Patriot win big!!!!

I love Fred, fellow Sudbury resident.

More breer

U started a lot of craziness pickin bal on @toucherandrich. Love the pats but this game scares me esp after losin to NYg in sb @albertbreer

@6Mike1Harris7 Everybody up there must've spent this week planning the parade route if someone picking Baltimore caused that big a stir.

Better than last year when he picked the Pats in order to motivate the Jets.

Without watching any of them:

Rodney - Pats
Bruschi - Pats
Sapp - Ravens
Faulk - Ravens
Mariucci- Pats
Sharpe - Ravens
Ditka - Ravens
Jackson - Ravens
Boomer - Pats

If I get any of those wrong I'll be shocked

Love how Faulk, Jackson and Sharpe are consistent.:D

Come on SF! These next two weeks could be the worst of my life if New York wins.

Get ready for a shocker. Tubby just picked the Ravens on WFAN... His rationale was the JETS and Steelers and Ravens have beaten them...in the past. Amazing it took the JETS to see the genius in hiring this guy as your HC...

Rapoport tweet:

Patriots S James Ihedigbo was told about Rex Ryan's prediction that the Ravens will win: "Who cares?" #shrugs

total douche. Breer also predicted last week that Tebow would lead the Broncos to a late go ahead score, but Brady would lead the game winning drive as time expired.

Methinks he, ahem, doesn't know what he's talking about.

Or he's hoping to get lucky.

Now all the joksters on twitter are tweeting about the odds jumping in our favor and getting to Vegas to put money on us winning... Some even hinting that maybe Breer will be forced to change his pick. LOL I guess even his peers get it.

So are you saying that Albert Breer's chances of change his pick are higher THAN PEOPLE THINK?

NFL.com news: Final four organizational structures; four things to watch

1) Torrey Smith's deployment in Foxboro. If New England's going to win the Super Bowl -- and they're the odds-on favorite now -- the Patriots are going to have to break some statistical truisms about championship clubs. And one regards their defense's work against the big play. The Patriots allowed 89 explosive plays (20-plus yards) in 2011, per one club's data, which was easily the most any defense in the NFL yielded. They allowed none against Denver. The difference here, of course, is that the Patriots built a big lead, and could afford to back off defensively against the Broncos, while challenging Tim Tebow to throw accurately underneath. It'll be more difficult to do that with Anquan Boldin on the field, and Ray Rice there as one of the NFL's best in the screen game. So it'll be interesting to see if Smith becomes a focus for the New England defense, as he was for Houston last week when the Texans put Johnathan Joseph on him. In what should be a close game, even a single home run from Smith could be a big difference-maker.

2) Tom Brady's left foot. Gotta give Ravens play-by-play man Gerry Sandusky credit for reinforcing this one for me: How Brady is able to move in the pocket will be key to how effective he is throwing it. And if Brady can't step into his throws with that left foot, the Ravens have a chance to slow down the Patriots' offensive machine. New England's offensive line has stood up well against edge rushers, most prominently Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller last Saturday. Where problems have stemmed from historically for New England is when the heat is coming from inside, because that keeps Brady from stepping up. Justin Tuck's work at defensive tackle in Super Bowl XLII is a great example of that. And Haloti Ngata certainly has created those types of issues for New England in the past, so the Patriots' handling of the big man bears watching.

I want to know which QB likes pressure up the middle and likes getting hit...
