I think the one thing that really jumped out at me watching the National Championship game last night was the hitting.
I had not realized how different the NFL used to be till seeing that game. I mean you talk about it, but it wasn't untill seeing that hitting that it really reminded me how different the NFL used to be.
There were a bunch of times last night that DB's and linebackers put hits on offensive players that would have been perfectly legal before Goodell's time, but that would have drawn a penalty today.
Think about the Steelers Broncos game, the game tying TD. In the old NFL, Cotchery would have been leveled. Instead the DB pulled back.
Those Bama and LSU defenders are going to have to learn how not to hit if they are going to do well in Goodell's NFL.
I think the guy has just been bad for the sport.
It really has not done justice either when you think of the records that have fallen. They need to really be put in perspective.
Records that have fallen during Goodell's time should be looked at differently IMO
