I must admit (I must've been asleep the past few weeks) I was wondering why Willie Andrews was playing in so many nickel packages today. Then Jim Nantz informed that #38 is Ray Mickens. I know we picked Mickens up a couple of weeks ago and have always been impressed by his play with the Jets, but hadn't quite heard that he took Andrews' number.
In the meantime, I thought Mickens played great today. There had been some written the past few weeks that he had the BB D system down cold from the 90's and there wouldn't be much transition needed for him. Looks like that is the case.
Great pickup who will be a key veteran depth guy in the playoffs (and will hopefully keep troy Brown concentrating solely on Offense).
