Seymour is only Patriot in Pro Bowl

Re: Seymour is Patriots only Pro Bowl Starter

I get the sarcasm.
Brady shouldn't go. End of story. He has not been sharp and maybe this will give him an edge.

He is no longer considered a top 3 QB. Yeah, maybe - MAYBE in the top 5. The Patriots staff did this to Brady and he did some of it himself. You can't expect him to be what he was with the offense he has, sorry, but it's true. This could have been the year that Brady showed everyone what he could do without his weapons, but it was just too much to ask. Look at what P. Manning has gone through adjusting to losing his two TE's - sure he looked great last night, but the 4 games prior he was off adjusting to his missing weapons.

this year set Brady back from being considered by most the BEST QB in the league to having Rivers beat him out of the Pro Bowl - he just seemed to let it get to him mentally and has not been very sharp or on top of his game. He has missed something all year! Very sad indeed - I am sure Brady doesn't care about the Probowl, but I bet BB uses this a motivation and by the end of the week he will have Brady PO'd about it!

I hate to say this but you should work for ESPN with this kind of analysis......your use of punctuation is very sad indeed!

Pro Bowl voting is a joke in general.

The most amazing stat I ever heard doesn't even involve a Patriot.

Fred Taylor, if his groin holds together for 2-3 more years, is probably going to the HOF. Quick, how many pro bowls has he been to?

Hint: As many as Ty Warren.

I guess I grade on a curve because of how little he had to work with. You look at it the other way. I guess we'll agree to disagree. And yes he is still a top 3 qb, I think this 'down year' affect the Boston fan vote IMO.

On another note, let's not all shed tears for Peyton because he lost two of his TEs. He only has one of the most prolific WR tandems ever. Boo-hoo for Peyton :D

Your argument doesn't make sense. You essentially said that Rivers deserves to go to the pro bowl because his FO surrounded him with better talent and yet has produced less yards and TD's than Brady. Brady doesn't have the best all around player in the NFL turning dump passes into 80 yard TD's or a TE that gobbles up anything near him.

So, if you do more with less you are not a Pro Bowl player, but if you do less with more you are.

Thank you for giving me a great example of why the Pro Bowl voting sucks.

Brady may end up going anyway - Palmer or Rivers could bag and I would bet anything he's a close 4th.

Manning of course would never turn down a pro-bowl nod (I don't believe he ever has). That game is the highlight of his year.

fact that there are no pats as reserves is a bit more odd than no starters..

SVN,
In case you didn't see it in the other thread I apologize for being a jack@$$ earlier.

That's what I'm saying. Thanks for stating it more clearly mgcolby.

clark judge on the pro bowl stuff

Biggest loser -- New England quarterback Tom Brady: The Patriots take away his best receivers. They shuffle his offensive linemen. Rodney Harrison is gone. Junior Seau is gone. Troy Brown is back to playing defensive back. Yet the Patriots are 10-4 and another lock for the playoffs? There must be something right, and there is: Tom Brady. As long as you have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady on the same side, that team will be trouble. Not choosing Brady to the Pro Bowl club not only is wrong, it's disgraceful. He doesn't have the big numbers; he doesn't have the big receivers, either. Yet all he does is win.

Okay, I'm just going to say it. It's a complete joke that Seymour made it this year. It's hilarious how the Pro Bowl is based on nothing more than reputation. I mean Will Shields made the pro bowl for crying out loud, he's still a good lineman but no way is he one of the best in the AFC. Then they snub players like Samuel who is leading the league in INTs. I'll tell you what the NFL needs to do. They need to take the fan and media votes and flush them down the toilet.

Re: Seymour is Patriots only Pro Bowl Starter

Its funny when we go 14-2 we get 4 or 5. But when other teams do it they get 9 or 10.

I think the only time we have (had) "pro bowl" talent, is when they leave.

Talking head before a playoff game - The Patriots are ok but they just don't have enough talent to beat (insert team).

Talking head after the offseason moves - The Patriots will finish second in the AFC East. They simply lost too much talent with the departures of (insert names here).

Great line.
That being said, I don't think that Sey has played like a Pro-Bowler this season. Be it from injury or what, he just got in on name recognition.

I feel badly for guys like Warren who really deserved the nod and what about Wilfork?

Asante mising the PB might bring him down to Earth at contract time but I doubt it.

Please. Who gives a damn about the freakin pro bowl? It's a garbage game with a garbage selection system. The only use it may have is that it might rekindle the old "no respect" mantra; I can picture #37 getting himself and everyone else all pissed-off that no one was selected. Other than that, it amounts to sweet f*ck all.

Tom just told me he's *really* pissed, and he will show it the rest of the year. He's going to make those big market bigots "eat my dust".

That's what he said.

I disagree. As long as it's there, players who didn't make it will compare themselves with people who did, and stew if they think they're more deserving. Clark Judge nailed it about Brady. I hope Brady can dismiss this, but I'd be pretty sore if I were him for the team letting his best receivers go, and then he gets left off a team he should always make. I hope he doesn't go looking.

another thing here..not every team plays every other team to accruratley gauge how good one is so ..most players and coaches go by names they know and have decent yrs or regular highlights...just guessing ...

the pro bowl is a joke, but Brady deserves it over Rivers , and how can you leave Assante or Ty Warren of the roster.. Whatever as long as we are playing the week before the pro bowl I will be happy...

lets not forget Koppen getting snubbed too...basically they have the Chargers verse the Bears this year.

Looking for what? The only thing TB cares about, and rightly so, is winning the superbowl. As the Patriots have proven time and again, the # of players on the Prow Bowl roster has zero correlation with winning the SB.

Big whoop, popularity contest.
