Maybe I can scream for BB to draft a pass rusher for another couple of years, been doing it the past 3 years. Sanchez had forever all night in the pocket.

Not saying the defense lost the game, I'm just so ******* sick of seeing our DB's having to cover for 7 seconds.

But the D caused no turnovers period. This D led the league in TO's as we all know because it was repeated ad nauseum.

The steelers played like **** the entire half just like us but the reason they are playing next sunday and we are not is because they forced TO's and we did not.
No turnover was problematic I agree but we did something by getting off on 3rd down more often than not today. They stopped the Jets offense for large periods and even won the time of possession battle.

The offense laid an egg that the defense couldn't cover. They did their job as well as we could have expected them too.

The Patriots D didn't lose the game today. They gave us more than enough opportunities to get back into the game from short field positions. This was totally on the offense.

Where were the forced turnovers that would definitely continue in the playoffs?

Maybe the inexperience caught up to them?

The Patriots gave up 28 points to the Jets, the Jets held the Pats to 14 points, facts are facts.

I think for all the crap I took over the last month, I deserve an apology from you and a few others on here.

They gave up 28 points...... thats doing their job as well as expected????

Dude, come on. Yes the offense is to blame as well, but dont just throw everything towards the offense. The offense scored late in the third making it a 1 score game, and then what happened? The defense didnt step up and get a stop, the allowed a TD making it a 2 score game again.

I'm not apologizing to you The Dynasty. The Patriots didn't create a turnover but they did improve on 3rd down today.

The offense lost this game for the Patriots today. The defense played to an expected level that should have been good enough for the offense to do something.

No doubt that was problematic and a horrible drive against the Patriots defense. It was the one drive that the Jets really did as they pleased. The rest were short field scores set up because of the offensive failures.

You told me time after time that turnovers actually increase during the playoffs and the Patriots would continue to force them despite their youth. But, in fact both of those did not happen today. I was right.

The defense gave up 28 points to the Jets, that is not an expected level in my book. It showed how much the defense depended on the offense throughout the season, again one of the points that I made and you and others continued to shoot down.

I agree that the D held their own given the position they were in for much of this game. But if i remember the convo you guys were having, Dynasty didn't believe this D could hold us down if the O had an off night because they relied on TO's and the offense playing very well. He was right.

Fair is Fair.

Stop blaming everything on the offense, the Patriots defense gave up 28 points. It wasnt like the Jets started with the ball in the red zone every time. I am not saying its all on the defense, but the defense definitely struggled today. They do not get a free pass.

You argued that turnovers declined in the playoffs. We've seen that turnovers have increased in the playoffs. It was unfortunate that the Patriots defense couldn't force any today given their form of the season. How many is in in 2 weeks not, over 20? They were far better on 3rd down than they have been for a while.

If you want to blame the Patriots defense for playing reasonably well and being hung out to dry by the Patriots offense today then be my guest.

The defense was good enough today without being above that. This loss is on the offense absolutely smashing them.

This is about the Patriots. I said the dependence on the turnovers might come back to cost them, you and others said no, it will continue. Well, look facts are are facts. It did come back to cost them because they didnt force any.

The Jets were 6-13 on 3rd down, not that great for the Patriots.

The defense played well, but not well enough for when the offense struggled, which was exactly my point that the defense could not win a game when the offense struggled.....

No, you argued that good quarterbacks and good teams don't turn the ball over in the playoffs. I can pull the quotes if you like? If you want an apology about turnovers then you can have it for that as the Patriots didn't create any. To say that was the reason we lost though is stretching it.

Whilst I agree with you that the defensive issues reared some of their heads today, how you can fault a unit that was defending short fields and getting the Jets off the field.

There was only the one drive where I was really pissed of with the D and as you said it was the drive that put the Jets up two scores. Special teams fluffed two recoveries they could have had, 1 was for the match winning score the other to end the game.

Of the 3 units the defense was the best today. Special teams were crap and the offense diabolical. The D gave the offense more than enough opportunities to put points on the board.

The whole thing was a failure of the Patriots team as a unit.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. The D got blown up near the end of the game by a few big plays but they kept the game within 1-2 scores for most of the game while the O just kept giving the ball back to the Jets, often giving them great field position.

The D was OK, but not great. They never ever put pressure on Sanchez. Never and when the struggling offense got within 3 they turned around and let up 5 play 75yard drive.

So is bill going to blame this on the locker room this year...???

because if he is , that is a sad excuse on him and Brady.... i love both of them , but right now this is not thier finest moment... they choked.... both he and Brady were out coached and out played by better qb and coach tonight.... i could see the locker room last year ,but this year poor excuse.. we are not the san diego chargers, that coach is not norv turner, but he coached like it..... say what you want but the truth hurts....

Really curious to see your validation for blaming the coach and QB with this one.

You continue to make top notch threads. Good work.

WTF:confused: Where is he quoted blaming this on the locker room?

Re: So is bill going to blame this on the locker room this year...???

As fans we can try to pinpoint a single reason why they lost but in actuality the whole team had a down effort, i doubt bill would try to single out any player or part of the team, they got outplayed and outcoached by the jets, if anything the only one you can blame is him for not having his team prepared.

Re: So is bill going to blame this on the locker room this year...???

Can't blame Moss and Brady "locking in on him" for this one either.

Offense has been putrid in our last 3 playoff games. Poor protection, no adjustments or answers for the defense is doing.
