I don't think it's too much of a surprise that Moss is struggling in a poor passing offense. I also wonder how much the return of Kenny Britt will help Moss. Time will tell.

When that happens Moss might only be their 4th best WR option (behind Britt, Washington, and Gage).

When we first got rid of him most people thought we made a huge mistake and the Vikings got quite a bargain. They were supposed to "Light up our secondary" back in October. It's easy for you to say that it's remarkable we got a 3rd round pick for him now after he looks like crap, but you can't act like you knew he was trash all along.

I think a lot of people were for it, but I know many were also against it. Like everything with Moss, he was a polarizing figure. I was definitely against the deal, which is why I'm glad BB runs this team and not me. ;)

Did anyone see this on Welkers twitter today?

Lol u said it! RT @fasteddy_98: @wes_welker Hey admit it. Yer glad Moss is gone. No room for fathead slackers on the Team, right?

Wow, Welker agreed with Revis all along.

Welker on a few occations has either stated or strong implied he is glad Moss is gone.

Wanna be prophetic.... lets look toward the Jets WR situation come the end of the season.

With Holmes and Edwards in the last year of their contracts, the chance that a hole would open up on the Jets for a WR with the ability of a Randy Moss is likely. Would they?

Keep in mind, the Jets will be restricted in signing free agents based upon how far they make it into the playoffs (as well as the Patriots).

IF this case plays out, I would hope that his agent calls Robert Kraft and give him the opportunity to match the deal.

Welker doesn't have a twitter account.

Are you sure that's his official Twitter account? Hard to tell with so many fakes that are out there.

I need to see that before I stop being skeptic of the authenticity. Too easy to pretend to be somebody else on the Internet.

Moss is officially over the hill, and useless. Its remarkable that BB got a 3rd round pick for him. There are guys in the UFL who could outproduce him at this point.

qft

Maybe Belli's best trade of all time. The fact he was cut a week later, ie, essentailly a free 3rd rounder clinches it.

Maybe there was more to the picture than meets the eye, but Moss has done nothing since he left the friendly confines of Gillette...

This week, he does poorly once again.. Kerry Collins is no Tom Brady, but 1 catch is just about making the box score. Wonder if the press are watching to see if he is "dogging it"??

Wonder if he will rant, rave and ramble if he has the opportunity for a press conference????

worse than that ... he had one go through his hands on 4th and 8 near the end zone today. the throw was under thrown which coupled with Moss's bad back is not automatic for him at all. Those hands were unreal at one time ... now they are less than average.

Later Collins again tried for Moss near the end zone but Moss could not pull a miracle catch like we saw him do so many times. Without being a red zone weapon his ability to earn big next year is severly diminished.

Sadly of all if he would have been content to be a decoy here and catch a few balls he still had much value here even as a diminished player.

Moss is taking snaps away from Kenny Britt who has 23 receptions this year.

I know. Never in my life have I seen one player shoot himself in the foot so resoundingly and so quickly. It's really something.

Most people did not think it.. some very vocal people thought it, and brought it up over and over and over and over again.. there is quite a difference.

Many of us have learned to trust most of the decisions that BB has made over the years.. he has the uncanny knack of knowing when to let go of the veterans.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure many people on this forum were flipping right after it happened. At the very least, most of us on this forum were very surprised and didn't see it as a positive thing.

I have said I feel bad for Moss, with the way things have spun out of control for him. I am not saying that it wasn't his fault for the way things turned out, but it is sad watching a NFL icon at the WR position lose it so quickly, especially one who was an integral part of our team for the last 3 years.

With that being said, I don't know that him being here would help. I think Brady has a sense of loyalty to Moss, and that sometimes overcomes his best judgment causing him to force the ball to moss. I think the outcome of this sense of loyalty could cause more damage than any "decoy" role Moss would have for the Patriots.

Spreading the ball the way we have has limited the turnovers and made our offense hard to gameplan for. I don't think Brady potentially thinking "I need to get the ball to Moss" would help in any way.

Shortly after Moss was traded I said that I wouldn't mind him signing with the patriots next season if possible. Now after seeing how poorly Moss has done and how successful the Patriots have been, I don't want him back here. Honestly, I think the pats are better without him and I'd rather us draft a top WR. Moss isn't done yet though. I see him having a decent season next year if he's on the right team.

As some people have noted the QB situation in Tennessee is not helping the cause. If he was playing for a decent QB he would definitely have better numbers.

As for people saying his he toast and has nothing left, he definitely does. He still is a deep threat, remember the catch in the Jets game vs. Revis? I still think all Moss wants is a championship and I think he realizes that his time is running out. He is going to want to play for a contender and I think have a complete attitude change where he is going to put the team first as long as it means him winning. I would not be surprised if Moss is a Patriot in 2011.

There were plenty who disliked the trade. If there is any doubt, see any of the 20 or so trade threads on the subject.

As for Moss's abilities, I don't know how he is expected to do much of anything spending 4 games on the Vikings then 4 on the Titans. If either of those two teams run the NE offense, he should pick it right up. But they are both very different than what he played with for the last 3+ years. Also consider that both are currently failing organizations with their own issues, so see the Raiders stats (42 receptions in 16 games in 2006) if you believe he handles that well.

If he returned with a better perspective, I would be happy to see him back. Otherwise, the Pats made the right move under the circumstances and I wish him well, wherever he ends up.

:agree:
Im not sure what game some of these posters were watching, but it wasnt all Kerry Collins' fault. Moss had his chances at some balls. The thing that cracked me up was when he finally caught a pass, the stadium erupted with chants of 'Randy'. Prior to that, all you heard was the booing, and 'fire fisher' chants. This is why I simply cant respect a Titans fan. I hope they don't think Randys going to be their savior, or even be on the team next season :bricks:

Moss is done as an elite WR and relegated to a roll of decoy and an occasional big catch downfield...most of the time he is an irrelevant factor anymore and his days of glory are coming to an end quicker than most expect.

I don't care if he catches passes from Joe Montana in joe's prime...he no longer is a 1,000 yard receiver and retirement should be sooner than you think.
