I'm so PO'ed at Wheatley.... Cut the damn guy... How do you get hurt first 2 years in the Pros... What a waste of a pick

Maybe you should ask Brandon Tate.

If Wheatley, Kaczur & Taylor aren't ready for Baltimore, then they should be IRed.
They are wasting precious roster space.

Fred Taylor, in particular, has done nothing but steal money since he arrived.
I'd rather sign somebody off the street who might be less talented but is more reliable.

We all knew what we were getting in Fred Taylor, he has done as expected imo by producing in his limited healthy snaps. The injury to Faulk is what makes it look bad but we knew going in that he is good for 30-40% of the season at best.

honestly, I think Leigh Bodden is just as good as Samuel. He doesn't gamble as much though and he is better vs the run. Why didn't pats trade for sheldon brown?
YouTube - Reggie Bush Hit by Sheldon Brown

The Eagles are putting up with Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs right now. That should tell you a lot about Brown's abilities and personality. He's just not wanted.

I think that's a little unfair on Talyor's part, when he's on the field you can see defenses get a little scared he's out there. Also he does still have some moves left, you can see when he hits the field. Sure he has been hurt but better to be hurt now, rather than in December.

I'm just afraid that he'll be hurt in December, too.

excuse me for my ignorance, but didn't Wheatley get surpassed on the depth chart by Wilhite? I mean, I remember games when Springs "started" but Wilhite was getting a lot of snaps and even when Wheatley was healthy, wasn't in the mix.

Am I missing something here? Did Wheatley somehow catch Wilhite or did Wilhite regress??

Butler was in for 3 plays the other night. One run, a pass to a guy Chung was covering, and a pass directed at Butler.

He got the only pass deflection of the night on passes going to Bess.

I know our division is loaded with stud WRs, but Butler was burned by OchoCinco and a rejuvenated Edwards.

In the future, McCourty would take those guys. I hink Butler can handle the #2s.

To me Wheatley and Butler are the small player, small cat quick CB's in the mold of Asante Samuel. To me they are all nicklebacks.

Was surprised that BB selected Butler the very next year. Was it because Wheatley was always injured? I can't see where Butler has anything much greater to offer over Wheatley, or vice-versa. Why does BB get multiple versions of these small guys?

Have hope for Wheatley and Butler.

They might be similar stature and athletic, but Butler's skills are a bit different. He has excellent ball skills and was the highest leaper at the NFL combine.

the two backs that get most of the carries now were undrafted guys off the street who are both young. maybe a bit of experience and mentoring by Taylor could help.

Belichick plays the RCB and LCB set and so the opponent can send their #2 to whichever side McCourty is on........

It was weird the other night. McCourty was on Marshall the entire night, Bess did his damage against Arrington, for the most part.

People seem to think he did in the off-season

Paul Perrilo on one of those Patriot.com "radio shows" said that Chung covered Bess in the first half of the Miami game and did not do well, so then they brought in Wilhite to cover Bess.

Doesn't that seem a bit odd, that the coaching staff would pick Chung for that role in the first place??

What does that say about what they think of Wilhite and Butler?

I am hopefull all these CB's start to play well.

Well, if McCourty (1) and Arrington / Butler (2) are covering Marshall (1) and Hartline (2), that kind of leaves Chung on the slot guy unless they are playing the Nickel / Dime.
