Is the offense better off without Faulk?

geeze these threads suck after a loss. Maybe it should have said "do we use the shotgun too much?"

But yeah we r way better off without one of the best 3rd down backs in the league... killer

Well, the Pats run the gun a lot more than on 3rd down and how was that third down offense last year, especially in the second half?

No, I don't think the Patriots are better without Faulk, HOWEVER...

I do think the Patriots have a lot of potential to improve their offense, more than other teams. They have some young players whose confidence could catch up to their physical skills in Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Tate. I think that, even with the loss of Faulk, the offense might be better at the end of the season than it was at the beginning.

I want to point out, also, that the Torry Holt injury hurts more than most people will allow. I do not think he would have been cut, and he would have been an excellent veteran presence for Brady as a third option, splitting time with Tate. I think Brady still feels that there are only two trusted players out there in Moss and Welker, and losing Faulk hurts there. Hopefully Gronk and Hernandez will continue to play out of their minds, as rookies go.

So you want us to try to run BJGE on third down behind an average-at-best run blocking interior line? That would turn 3rd and 3 into a <50% proposition.

I'm interested to see what the o will look like without him. Could be ugly but maybe they will run more play action like they did in the first half of the jets game. It actually looked very good and am still wondering why they moved away from it in the 2nd half.

Easy,Moss was asking for more passes since Hernandez stole the show and that's the way they went, poor choice

What some did not realize, that one INT in the 3rd quarter that Brady threw on the sidelines that was supposed to be to Moss but got picked off never should have gone there,Tate was wide open by about 5 yards down the center of the field and might have resulted in a huge play but Brady flat out missed him while only zeroing in on the obvious target that fans in the nose bleed section could have read.

That offense in the second half had more vanilla than Baskin Robbins has in stock.
