Did anyone see those Pitt defenders absolutely pick him up and pound Vince Young head first into the ground without a penalty?....it was nothing less than a bodyslam..should have been a 10 yarder at least

Here is the video...tell me if this does NOT deserve a penalty and maybe a fine as well....

You shouldn't be able to do it to a qb, but WR/RB...fair game players get hurt in the NFL on less than that, see Kevin Kolb and Brady injuries. I just think that the NFL has really gone out of its way to protect some of the players. Defenseless receivers and such but come on, that was pretty impressive.

Ok, say a 270lb DE or LB does that to Wes Welker and knocks him out for the year, you still ok with that? A guy who has a hundred pounds or so on Welker slamming him into the ground like a rag doll.

Sorry, there is a reason that type of tackle is not legal and I agree with it. I have more problem with the horsecollar tackle rule (especially since it was created primarily because one player was tackling that way and injuring players) than the rule that bans the bodyslam.

It is impressive at first, but then you remember that if McClain had dropped him a little faster, he could have landed on his neck, and been seriously injured!

Not a fun tackle to be on the receiving side of! Been dump tackled a few times in rugby (where it is legal)!

Its a fairly dangerous play no doubt but football is a dangerous game, I see it as no worse than a blindside hit on a punt return where the guy has absolutely no chance because he can't see the player thats running at almost 20mph. If that is a flag, why isn't this?
