Ah,yes ...the year was 2007 and the Patriots had just got done demolishing the New York Jets by a score of 38-14
In that game Brady threw for 3 TDs and was 22-28 for 297 Yards
This game was eerily similar with Brady throwing 25-35 for 258 Yards
That team then went on to defeat thier next victim by the SAME score of 38-14 enroute to an undefeated regular season and smashing all sorts of records.
While I do not expect the team to do anything near that 16-0 mark and the very young defense will certainly have struggles along the way,I do think this offense is certainly capable of breaking the 2007 Patriots 589 points mark set in 2007,this offense at RB is much the same but the TEs are 100x better, the receivers below Welker and Moss are could be as good as Gaffney and Stallworth and the Mankins,Kaczur-less OL looked promising yesterday against one of the best pass rushing defenses in the league.
IMO This offense is overall better than 2007 IMO with the only question of the OL holding up
The defense should get a break knowing the Pats should be able to score 24 or more each game and if they can hold opponents to 23 or less it could be an exciting season.
Lots of questions to come in the next 3 months, but I like the answers we were given so far in the early going in week 1.
