I think that O-berger is gone. He had a golden opportunity to not only make the team, but be the #1 interior backup, and was cut. I dont see the point in putting him on the ps. I'd rather use the slot to bring in a different guy we think can develop who hasnt failed here already.DB Sergio Brown
CB DeAngelo Willingham
OL Rich Ohrnberger
OL George Bussey
QB Zac Robinson
I can see NE exploring the following players to see if they'll suit:
OLB Alex Daniels (Oakland)
DE John Fletcher (Arizona)
DE Malcom Sheppard (Houston)
DE Jarron Gilbert (Chicago)
Would they bring back Gutierrez or O'Connell for that?? THAT could be interesting but might have already burned those bridges.
I suggest you check the rules before making statements..it helps.Bridges don't matter; neither is eligible: Gutierrez is a fourth-year player, and O'Connell's eligibility got burned up when he was Cassel's backup in 2008.
[Which raises an interesting question: why burn his eligibility like that anyways when you have Gutierrez?]

What about Al Woods, who was cut by New Orleans? He was their 4th rounder this year out of LSU. He worked at DT in the Saints 4-3 defense, but he has the size and agility to be a 3-4 DE. Worth a peek. Hey, we're talking PS here...
The latter may be true..but he STILL needs to take a look at the rule..and I guess you do as well...Do you have the specific rule that proves him wrong?
One thing I've noticed about CTPatsfan77 is that he's usually got the rules down pretty well and rarely, if ever, mis-speaks on them..
I don't know what their eligibility is, but I don't think either of them will be on BB's call list.. Not when both were cut last year.

Obviously, you must be seeing something I'm not, because I've looked at the rule, and everything I see tells me that neither Gutierrez nor O'Connell is eligible.
