OT: AD wants to get paid

and every year, the pats are returns are diminishing from the players they sign

people harp about thomas, but they returns on taylor, morris, springs are pretty diminished also....for what they are paying these 3 stiffs, they could have had a real player

bodden is the 3rd highest paid guy on the team......just sayin'

Do you have an example in mind?

Sounds like he's got a super-inflated sense of his real worth.
you think???? he sucks...and he is so ego inflated he doesn't realize it..while I think NOW the league does....although usually there are 1...2 sucker teams that will pay for a player that is a zero

I seem to remember that his nickname was AD as in All Day. During his time here, can someone please tell me what exactly he did "All Day"?

that's how long it took him to get to meetings.

He was a top notch Complainer To The Ref. I swear, he did that after almost every defensive snap he was on the field.

His connections to the players association and his run-ins with BB in the past are going to hurt his chances.

The fact that he has an over-inflated opinion of his playing ability is the final nail in the coffin.

This guy either eats humble pie and plays for vet min, or he will sitting out the season.

At this point I hope he signs with the Jets. Another potential time bomb in their locker room.

So does anyone know how much AD's price is right now?

If he's lucky he gets a tad over the vet minimum ... based on incentives though.

Like running under 5.0 to the chow line.

Benching 225 ounces 30 times.

Doing the short or long shuttle without falling.

Reaching 36" to grab the soap while sitting in the hot tub.

there are several who would have helped the pats the last few months.....if you can't think of 'em, then you can't be helped

In other words, you haven't done the arithmetic to back up your claim, and were just talking out of your butt.

Thanks. Just checking.

So does anyone know how much AD's price is right now?

Given his contention that it was all a matter of misuse, I'd guess he's looking for a phony baloney 2 year deal worth upwards of the $11M left on his deal here (even if only $1.5-2M of it is likely to be achieved and another million or two is tied to potentially unreachable incentives...and the rest is year two fluff, kinda like Taylor's deal).

I wouldn't be using the play of the defense in the Giants SB as an example of how great anyone on our defense played, ESPECIALLY rushing the passer.

They held a good offensive team to 17 points over 60 minutes. They weren't the problem.

The offensive line, and terrible offensive game planning were why they lost that game.

You are overestimating how much of a player we could have gotten for what "these 3 stiffs" are being paid. The high profile free agents who you are presumably thinking of were more expensive. And you ignore the fact that AD is the last FA the Pats did pay a premium price for... this thread is an odd place to complain that "value" free agents haven't worked out.

At this point I hope he signs with the Jets.
His strategy is probably to inflate his price now, since the Jets can't sign him anyway. Maybe someone gets hurt in a minicamp and a team panics and pays him. Come July when the Final Eight restrictions expire, there is a good chance the Jets will be knocking on his door.

And Jets or elsewhere, he'll get paid more than anyone here seems to think. Players that bust with the Pats often still get paid elsewhere, you know. Age is the biggest reason for "vet minimum" contracts for former stars, and he isn't quite there yet.

What really bugs me about the whole "they didn't use me properly" complaint is that when he first arrived, AD was supposed to be a marvel because he was so versatile. He could play almost any position on the field, remember? He was a defensive swiss army knife!

So I guess he must have been the kind of swiss army knife that includes, say, a needle threader, a cuticle shaper and a fish scaler, but you'd be guilty of misuse if you tried to cut anything with it?

Been some entertaining posts on the board today, but this one has to take the cake for best AD post of the pre season...

final 8 has nothing to do with this.

That was one of the dumbest things I have said here, of course it doesn't. I was flipping between threads and confused myself :(
