#22 Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State
#44 Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
#47 Ricky Sapp, OLB, Clemson
#52 Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati

A solid mock overall with useful comments throughout. Thoughts?

Looks fine to me. I'm sure there are other people on the board that I preferred, as well as everybody else, but I think most of us would find this an acceptable haul.

On the whole though, the mock falls apart at #18. I can't imagine a smart-drafting, money-conscious team like Pittsburgh spending a two #1 picks in three years on the RB position.

Not bad, Id take it. For me, Id make a slight change. Id go with:

#22 - Odrick, DE, Penn State
#44 - Sapp, OLB, Clemson
#47 - Damian Williams, WR, USC
#53 - Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona

Draft Countdown - 2010 NFL Mock Draft

You think Odrick is going to be available where in the second round?
After the way he showed at the Senior bowl and the Combine, there is a decent chance he will be gone before #22!

After Suh & McCoy, the only DTs that rate a 1st rd grade are D. Williams and J. Odrick. There are more teams switching to the 3-4, and Odrick is a prototype DE. Honestly, I have my fingers crossed that he is still there at 22.

There aren't that many 3-4 DE's available and there is a large drop-off after Odrick.

I was looking at the Lindy's draft magazine mock draft and they have us taking Sapp at #22.

It says Sapp compares with Ware. But it also says Sapp had only 7.5 sacks in his college career. What am I missing?

I'd say that Brian Price earns a 1st round grade. I see him going to the Colts.

Mount Cody is also a borderline 1st rounder at NT. I could see some team taking him if they aren't concerned about his weight.

I think the chance of Odrick reaching round 2 are slim to none.

There is a lot of talk in San Diego about Mount Cody going to the Chargers.

In my perfect world, BB goes up and gets Suh, and manages to keep all three second rounders.

But if that does not happen, I would love for BB to take Mt. Cody at #22.

I love it.
I just hope we don't trade back 2 of the first 4 picks and miss out on TOP talent this year.

This is a great draft. I just don't think that it will fall this way.

Bingo! On all 3 counts you are found agreeable as charged, until proven otherwise in a court of public opinion.

Especially on point # deux : the large land mass know as Cody. I see him going to Chargers. By the way, most mocks have them going RB in first round in a deep talented draft pool of RB's. But where is the NT for their 3-4? Smarter if they went NT with first round (Dan Williams or Cody) and then RB in 2nd or 3rd. Naturally - as they are the enemy, I hope they don't get a franchaise NT.

As far as the thread, I would be quite satisfied with a draft like that.

P.S. Thanks Pats for re-signing VW. It took alot of dead presidents, but he was overdue (from rookie contract). I am Sooooo glad NEP don't have to look for a new NT, or CB. Now only 5 other holes to fill but thats why there is a draft after all.

gilyard seems a bit frail, but not a scenario....not a big fan of gresham

given the way this draft scenario plays out, I would not mind:

22 - OLB brandon graham
44 - RB jahvid best
47 - OLB ricky sapp
53 - DE tyson alualu

and then go after a TE later.....maybe move up into the 3rd and get jimmy graham

Do Best's concussions not worry you? I would rather Spiller than Best but we couldnt get him in the 2nd as he'd be long gone, but the more I see of Odrick the more I want BB to get him on this team. Koa Misi would also be a good pick up to plug in with Mayo if they don't like what they see from McKenzie.

I could see that as a flag......fine......take TE gronkowski instead and get RB ben tate in the 4th or move up wherever to get him

I think misi could take a little time since he spent most of college playing with his hand on the ground which is why I would prefer sapp......I like misi, too tho.......but I'd jump on SD st ILB danny batten to push the inside guys

Scott seems to really like my man Maurkice; he has him going to the Bungles at 21.

My choices would be, based on who is still available in his mock:

22 - OLB Brandon Graham (or maybe Jerry Hughes)
44 - WR Damian Williams
47 - DE Corey Wootton
53 - CB Kareem Jackson (or maybe Chris Cook)

Wooten? What position is he going to play? He's not going to play OLB, and he's 25lb shy of DE. He, along with Dunlap, have no position on this team. They are both 4-3 DE's.

I would be thrilled if it would play out that way. I can do without Gresham, but otherwise that draft is awesome.

That is an extremely solid draft.

Best mock I've seen from somebody who doesn't post here.
