So how would you feel about Tim Tebow as our first round pick??

Good God, NO......

Tebow has awful mechanics (he holds the ball below his waist and then bring it up and throws sideways from there), the next read he makes will be his first. This guy is a gimmic NFL QB at best. Sure you could probably make him a servicable TE or maybe an H back. But his QB run and gun days do not translate to the NFL. He is not faster than anyone (aside from Nose tackles) currently playing the front 7 on any NFL defense. He is going to play in the Senior bowl, after that, he will be lucky to be a 3rd round pick.

I would cry if the Pats wasted a second round pick on him. I would most likely jump out a window if they blew #22 on him.

Like many people have said why would we waste our 1st round pick on a position that isnt even a need? The next QB that we draft is most likely Brady's replacement, do people really think/want Tim Tebow as Brady's replacement? If that EVER happened we would have to completely change our offensive approach which will never happen under BB. Tebow is not a QB that will drop back to pass 30+ times a game.

If Tebow is available when our 3rd round pick comes around, why not take him and get some use out of him, but I cant see the Pats taking him with there 1st or any of their 2nd's we have many more pressing needs than a QB.

As a Gator fan and a Pats fan, I think that it would be a mistake based upon the Patriots team needs.

I do think that he may have a decent career as an NFL QB. Granted he has awful mechanics, reminiscent of Bernie Kosar, but he does have good arm strength, work ethic, character, leadership, and athleticism.

Best case would be if he is on the board when the Patriots pick, and somebody really willing to give him a shot at QB trades for the pick and the Patriots get exceptional value in return. If Warner retires, would the Cardinals give up Bolden and a later pick for the Patriots pick, assuming they doubt Leinart's skills? Something to consider.

Tebow as our first round pick would be by far the dumbest pick in Belichick's tenure.

Even if Patriots needed a QB desperately, this would not be the right pick at #22.

please pick either a WR, RB or DE who can rush the passer.

He is a good dude, but the eye black with verses from the new testaments stenciled in are a bit much

As much as I like the guy,and think he's a winner, 1)we need some defensive players or a stud RB and 2) He's obviously not going to replace TB.So ,where would we put him?

News & Quotes from Playoff Sunday Edition of NFL Network’s NFL GAMEDAY MORNING

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is going to go somewhere in the first three rounds, it’s just a question of where. There’s a lot to like about Tebow, but teams do have concerns about his three-quarter release or playing in a spread offense where there are some gimmick plays and how that translates into a pro-style offense. I talked to some scouts who say worst case scenario, he’s a backup quarterback who could play H-back in a Frank Wycheck-type mold. Some teams I’ve spoken to say there is no way he falls below pick number 44 overall, which is where Dolphins QB Pat White went last year. One executive I spoke to said that he thinks the New England Patriots will jump on him in the first round. The Patriots have other holes to fill, but they have three second-round picks this year, two first-round picks next year, including Oakland’s and we know what Bill Belichick can do from a coaching standpoint.

Like we need a quarterback? Tebow can't play defense or wide receiver.

I can't stand him. Something about him just screams 'I'M INSANE!'

I would be very disappointed if we drafted him that high...but would follow his progress with intrigue.
Realistically, what role would Tebow play?
He could lead the pregame prayer session for the religious members of the clubhouse, maybe. Is playing QB in the NFL so easy that any white guy with the intangibles of Captain America is considered a promising project?
I watch a little college FB...I have not seen anything that tells me Tebow will end up better than Gino Toretta, Danny Wuerffel, Tony Rice, or Major Harris as NFL QB's.
He should convert to safety or TE or Wildcat specialist to find a roster spot in the league.

And with the remainder of the Pats picks, they trade all of them to Carolina for the rights to Peppers.

No Thanks........................................................................................

I have no doubt that Tim Tebow will one day be a very successful NFL QB. Sure, his mechanics are bad, but so were Phillip Rivers and that has worked out ok. He will need probably 2-3 years to develop, work on his reads and accuracy (which is not nearly as bad as people are claiming), but is anyone really betting against this guy? He makes good decisions with the ball, and while he won't scramble for long gains in the NFL, his running ability will still create mismatches on third and short situations.

All that being said, the Patriots drafting him doesn't make a lot of sense. There are far more needs and this draft (and next years) presents a real opportunity to give our roster a much needed revamping.

If I was a team like the Rams and I drafted Suh first and could get Tebow in the top of the 2nd, I'd be all over it, but not for the Pats.

I'd be irate if any first day picks are used on him. We simply don't have the luxury of making a pick like that this year.

no
im hearing if the jags dont take him in the 1st/2nd he could last until the 3rd i wouldn't mind trading up to get him then (hopefully thomas for a 3rd )

The pats would be lucky to get a fifth rnd pick for AD, he has a fat contract and hasn't ever come close to earning it.

Why would the Jags take him after the Matt Jones disaster

If the pats could get him in the 3rd or 4th, I would like to take a shot on him as an ILB conversion. Flame away.

the jags are a bad organization when it comes to fans and making money and they never sell out their stadium

they think drafting tebow (who is god in florida) will get people to come to their games so they dont move out to LA or wherever
