Sorry your wrong.. K. Gregg is their NT..

Guys should really watch more games than just 1 a week ;P

So because he's versatile enough that he can play DE (which I outright stated in the post, if you bothered to read it) in addition to the NT that he has traditionally played, that means he's not a NT? Great logic, champ

I'm sure everyone here with 20/20 hindsight is going to talk about how great it was, but I am not afraid to say that was just a stupid decision (even though it worked).

I almost made poopy when they did that.

Stupid based on what?
Based on the field position and game situation.
I think it was more about believing in the offense, about giving them a vote of confidence, and their ability to find a way to convert. Nothing takes the wind out of an offense than playing so conservatively, and having them jog off every fourth and short or intermediate.
Like I said... everyone here with 20/20 hindsight loves the call. Big surprise

EDIT: I stand corrected. After reading other posts, I am glad to see there are others in here agreeing with me.

read cold hard football facts.. Pats were ranked 17th against the run up the middle.. Against the right (seymour) it was #3...

Wilfork is good.. But Hampton, Williams and Jenkins are as good or better..

I think that was football outsiders, but I agree that wilfork tends to be overrated on this board. As far as ranking Jenkins, I think it depends a lot on how much you account for durability. When Jenkins is healthy, he's a top-3 NT. At his age, though, with his conditioning and his knees, you're lucky if you can get 10 healthy games a year out of him. Because of that, I wouldn't even put him in the top 5, but I can definitely see why some people, ranking on talent alone, would put him up there.

Seymour is versatile enought to play NT.. But he's listed as a DE.. SO for the agrument he's (ngata) a DE.. not a NT.. So my logic is based of fact.. Read my above post with the link from the team website.. He's not their NT.. if you watch a game you will notice it..

Right now, I'd probably rank Ngata #1 and Wilfork top 5.

Having that said, you actually think Kris Jenkins is Better than Vince wilfork?!

I also think ngata is an excellent NT but I also know he doesn't play NT currently.

Go watch a game..

Ngata is RDE, Kelly is NT, Price LDE..

Simply because a player lines up at end doesn't mean that they are not a NT. What makes Ngata such a specimen is that he has the lenght and footwork to play end, yet the pad level, strength, and explosion to play the zero.

To be honest (and I say this as a Hurricane alum), I think Wilfork is a much better 4-3 DT than a 3-4 NT. That's his pedigree, and I think we've seen this season pretty good push up the middle from Vince.

Would I take Jenkins over Wilfork.. Heck no.. Wilfork is younger and has a longer career ahead of him.. So I agree.. But Jenkins is a beast and this initially started with Jackb stating he's over rated.. Thats just crazy..

Yup, that was a bad move. I also still think they should've punted on that 4th-and-3 on ATL's 40-something. But whatever.

Meh, probly would have ended up in a touchback and only gained 20 yards in field position. We have Brady. Go for the damn first down because the chances of making it are very good.

I think, some of the time, Jenkins is better than Wilfork.

But I'll take Wilfork because he can actually keep up his level of play for the entire game.

What was the game situation? We were basically converting our 3rd and 4th downs with a high rate of success up to that point. Why shouldn't we continue?

Or are you suggesting we play with our tails between our legs?

To me that's a different situation and I like being aggressive there. You're too far for a FG but too close to punt and facing a very makeable 4th down.

i think if seymour one of the best DL men in the NFL was still playing next to him we would not be talking about Ngata as the best NT in the game

i all ways said that seymour was a better player then wilfork

but you cant put it all on wilfork he is now playing next to guys that where back up's last year and rookies

U went to the same website and found different info.. Fact is the depth chart lists him as DT.. not a NT.. Watch the game on replay this week and come back and tell me if he plays NT or DE..

jeez..............you guys are ruining the thread with your teenage-bickering.
