Classless Ryan and his game captains

Re: Classless Ryan and his game captains.

However, and I am gonna get flamed on this board for saying this, but Brady after some loses, like the one yesterday, I don't get it. And Belichick and Sanchez either. Yes he is a kid, but at least give him a bit of respect and shake his hand. Brady should have hung around to shake Sanchez hand. How hard can it be? Run over, shake his hand and walk off the field, congratulate him on a good game.

Can we please put this misconception to rest? Peter King stated on Football Night in America state that Sanchez told him Tom came up to Sanchez after the game and told him he played a great game and that he is a smart player, and Sanchez was thrilled to death to get that kind of praise from Brady. Just because Tom doesn't choose to do everything in the limelight doesn't mean it doesn't get done.

Ryan insulted and embarrassed the patriots. His team backed up the talk. This usually doesn't happen against the patriots.

The hell bowl will be later this year when the Colts play the Jets. The fact that I might have to root for the Colts to knock off the Jets disgusts me.

Let it go. Just, let it go.

We could have stuffed the "captains" and the "kiss his rings" and all that other crap down Ryan's throat yesterday, but we didn't. He won, we lost...arguing about his "class" or lack thereof is just sour grapes and is way too defensive for my taste.

We lost a football game in which we didn't play particularly well on offense or special teams and in which we couldn't mount a rush that rattled a rookie QB (with a total of 16 College games under his belt) in his second NFL start. That's the long of it and the short of it.

Atlanta's next and is plenty for us to be thinking about now. Some of the threads on this board today are a whole lot more embarrassing than losing that game could ever be.

I thought it showed balls to run out 3 ex Pats for the coin toss, It was a big F You to the Pats, not at all a classy move.

It made a point on several levels.
A. You should of not let me go, and I am here to show you why.
B. We (the Jets) are not intimidated, were calling you out, kinda of a mind XXXX.

It made me happy and like RR all the more.

seriously as a Patriots, you really shouldn't be calling out other teams about class or lack there of.

The Jets won their Super Bowl, other teams play theirs in February.

Re: Classless Ryan and his game captains.

but acting like an arrogant douche to kolber last week wasn't classless? running off the field early after the giants beat you wasn't classless?
brady running off the field yesterday without shaking hands wasn't classless?
BB blowing off sanchez' handshake wasn't classless? (sanchez didn't even talk one bit of sh*t this week).
brady and BB have been known for being classless.

Brady spoke briefly to Kolber, but should have talked for a longer period of time. You're right; the nets pay a lot of money to broadcast the games and have the right to expect the star of the game to speak to their reporters.
There was legitimate confusion about the clock at the end of the SB; not even his biggest haters hold that over Belichick and anyone who's lost a close SB (which, um, you guys haven't even had a chance to do in 40 years) doesn't hang around on the field; it's the victors' moment and belongs to them.
It's now been reported that Brady had more than a brief conversation with Sanchez, in which he said some very complimentary things.
BB shook Sanchez' hand and spoke to him, if only briefly.

But, I agree that the losers of a game shouldn't be calling the winners classless; it's sour grapes. (see my post above)

Otherwise, I see that you're a "gloat" poster with a couple dozen posts here. Two words of warning: the Jets are always going to win the SB in September and it's a long season.

I fail to see the big deal about this. If we don't like it, kick their butts on the field instead of whining.

No one on the Jets said the game would be there SB, they simply said they were treating it like it was a SB game.

Jets said up front that they were bringing all they had, and that is just what they did.

This has been eating at me since yesterday. I wanted to give it some time so to see if my prospective had changed.

However, even with sleeping on it, I think that Ryan's appointment of team captians yesterday was bush league and totally insulting to the Patriots. This is not pee-wee football. You have your tream captians for the year- send them out. Don't appoint special game captains, all former Patriots and one a back up QB, just to get a dig in.

All the Jets' crap happened BEFORE the game. All their talking and games happened before kickoff. That gave the Pats the opportunity to stick it up their asses big time. I've never wanted the Pats to win a regular season game more than yesterday. Today sucks big time - 2nd suckiest day since the Giants' loss.

Jets fans have felt like the Patriots b*tch for quite some time now. This is their glory. New Attitude, new defense and potentially star QB. Everything the Pats had and they envied. Let them have their day in the sun. I'm hoping the Patriots get it together in time to be a force in the NFL, make it to the post season and make their noise there. It's game two, people.

But enough with who has class and who does not. Saying you will punch a player in the face is not class, the captain thing, no class, BB rebuffing the newb QB, not classy. It is what it is. Jets fans calling the Pats classless is laughable and vice versa.

Straight up real talk.

excellent....moving on....

Re: Classless Ryan and his game captains.

Seems to me like he made an unorthodox move to fire his team up, and I'll go out on a limb and say that it worked. Ryan handed Belichick's ass to him yesterday, so I don't see the point in criticizing how he did it. Winning coach > 'classy' coach, and we as Pats fans know that.

I see that some people just don't get it. All the talk before or even after the game matters not. The Jets won the game. The Patriots should of had that put away in the first half and they didn't. But that is and will be discussed on other threads.

The point is that Rex is suppose to be a professional football coach. As a professional you NOT bring out a backup QB, who was only signed 2 weeks before after he was released by the team you are playing, and make him a captain. I have never seen this done before and the only reason to do this is to say "F U" to the other coach.

I would feel the same way about this had the Patriots smoked the Jets yesterday. Where is the professional ethics? No matter what profession you are in, you do not try to humiliate your competitor for no reason.

If you do, then you are classless and viewed as a slimeball.

That is the point of this thread.

I got you. And you are right: Ryan is a pig and there's no way to hide it.

Where is it written that you have to be nicey nice ? I like the fact that Belichick is really pissed off about losing. Screw the niceties, it isn't peewee football.

There have been lots of coaches like that, and I don't get why it's such a big deal. I think that it's just used as another reason to pick on the hated Belichick.

I don't care and it's obvious Belichick doesn't either.
