From the Inquirer:
Feeley's future hinges on Vick ruling | Philadelphia Inquirer | 09/02/2009
Considering Smith is unlikely to make the final roster, I would definitely make that trade. At least the Pats wouldn't have wasted a fifth round pick that way.
New England continues to be one of the more interesting suitors for Feeley because it may be willing to trade one of its tight ends. The Patriots would definitely be willing to deal Alex Smith, a 2005 third-round pick by Tampa Bay who was traded to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick in the off-season. The other tight ends on the New England roster are Ben Watson, Chris Baker and David Thomas. All three are ahead of Smith on the depth chart posted on New England's Web site.
The Eagles have been light at tight end since rookie Cornelius Ingram tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in early August. Brent Celek is the starter, but the backup situation is not clear.
