It looks like the Patriots will have a great chance to get a very good defensive player or offensive lineman next April.
With the second round draft pick from the San Diego Chargers, the Patriots could possibly trade up in the first round to select Rey Maualuga, ILB from Southern California.
I'm starting to think that with the successes of Mayo and Guyton, and Andra Davis looking like he'll be cut from Cleveland, that Maulauga isn't a big priority for us anymore. If he's there when we draft, great. But I wouldn't trade a second round pick to get him.
Speaking of LBs, I caught Pitt's last two games, and if MLB McKillop didn't make every tackle, it was pretty close. I think he's going to measure a little short, but I think his productivity is well worth a day two pick.
If NE played a Tampa-2 defense, yes. I like the kid, but like McKenzie of South Florida, I have questions about his ability to take on OL consistently, the Pittsburgh defense kept him clean, it's harder to project him in BB's D.He's a tough, smart football player. Coachable which should make up for what he's lacking.

True enough but after Mayo, I'd say my eye has been opened more to the intangibles of a player than it has in the past.
Yup and those are just the seniors. How nice would Curry or Orakpo look in a Pats uniform?
Lot of LBs on Mayock's list... which is a good thing since that will push some guys down to where we'll be drafting.
This time of year I always start getting excited about some guy who feels like a perfect fit, like Paul Posluzny or Corey Webster, only to have the braintrust pick a player I had totally taken off my board... like Meriweather.
So, I'm going to stop doing that... although Taylor Mays sure looks like a good solution to our Rodney Harrison situation, doesn't he? (No, stop... no, really)
I am more and more intrigued with Curry. Love his leadership skills. IMO, one of the best LB in the draft.
