Ref blows a call - so what!

Does anyone here really believe refs are going to make the right call every time?
Are Refs human beings?
Do you know any perfect humans? (besides yourself )

I watch the games with people who go off the wall when a call against their team is in their opinion "wrong".
I really need ear plugs in some of these games.

Why can't we accept the fact the refs will not be perfect every time
and just accept bad call as part of the game.

Yes you have to win in spite of the refs. Good teams will!

How many times have you heard
" well if it wasn't for the ref we would have won that game"

So what ... are you going to cry because life wasn't fair to you?
if so .... you better stock up on antiacids and uppers.

Now Florio wants more technology ... where does it stop?

No thanks. Give the game all that technology can handle. Maybe good teams can win in spite of the refs - but they shouldn't have to.

So are you saying the call against Hobbs in the SB and the failure to call a sack against Eli is the waning moments of the game was just an error in judgement and brush it off as a mistake? - That 'slight mistake' in judgement cost the Patriots a date with the history books

If you were a San Diego fan 2 weeks ago agaisnt Denver you would still be crying about it,so lets not overlook things from a perspective.

just remember ... you see what you see but you don't see everything!
for every bad call like you mentioned there are other calls that would have
helped the other team that were missed.

Let the call be the call .... and move on.

Your point is a valid one and a good one. But that doesn't mean some added technology wouldn't go along way to fixing some mistakes. Simple one for me is there should be a camera on the goal line, end line and looking up both sidelines from both directions. For me a bad call is OK but what really bugs me is when you have a challenge that can't be overturned because they don't have the angle....to me that is bull because the NFL can afford to set up many cameras for this purpose.

all i know, through experience, is that refs suck -- ALWAYS. theres really nothing you can do, just hope the crappy call is not against you or your team. and, if the call is against you, suck it up and do your best to make up for the crappy call.

Teams complaining about bad calls costing them games are pretty weak-minded.

Anything to make the calls more accurate is a good thing, if human error can be removed or lessened I'm all for it.

I'm all for technology, but my real big problem with the officiating is the whistle rules.

Let the players play, as much as I think we should be 19-0 champs from last year because Eli was "in the grasp" I still think that is a stupid rule. Let them play until the QB goes down, same with Cassel against Miami.

THIS is a large problem that seems to stand still...YES refs are people and DO make mistakes..THAT is obvious BUT there is NO reason the NFL can NOT do a lot to minimize bad calls. Technology? Not at all used to the fullest. it's like all of the players, teams and such is in the 21st century..while anything to do with officials..back many years.
Everytime the chains are brought out..I really wonder IF there is not a better way..no change at all in 60 years?? Kind of ridiculous. I want the NFL to spend time to explore MANY options so that games can be decided by the rules..and NOT changed by bad calls. I am all for having older refs in booths with many cameras monitoring the game so that all calls ARE correct. There MIGHT be times for a longer look at a particular play..but a bit longer games and having the RIGHT calls...vs what is there now. No challenges..getting it right is MORE important. I am sure games would NOT be all that much longer. Florio of PFT has favored something like that. As far as the offseason goes, players and teams use that time to improve, get better. Officials do not. I would think the NFL could use that time for watching films and really making fine points as to what IS and what is NOT a penalty so there would be a lot of consistency. They could have mock games so that officials get used to making the right calls. I just think the NFL has not explored this area at all..waiting for more poor calls and NOT pushing ahead to REALLY improve.

Maybe they should employ the best scientific minds in the world and the
best artificial intelligence software armed with an array of sensors to insure
calls are made correctly to within a tolerance of .000001 cm.

This call for technology is ABSURD!
Enough is TOO much already. Go back to the days when none of this
garbage existed and men were men and accepted the ref calls , good
or bad. This begging for more technology is NONSENSE! IMO

Our coach (US Women's Volleyball Team) absolutely forbade us complaining to:

Each other

Her

or any linesperson or referee.

Doing so would result in removal from the game.

Her theory was simple.

We were better than the other team and all the officials combined. (and we were, lol)
