This offseason, it's almost like Belichick is saying, "I'm never going to let that happen again."

I don't post often, but frequently read the boards for several years. You are one of my favorite posters, and it comes through that you are a great guy. My deepest condolences to you and your family. If you were to set up a fund or charity donation, please let us know I'd love to donate.

Heartbreaking news....so young.

I hope you and your family find strength in those around you to lean on in this very hard time.

Good decision posting this to our board...it was posted yesterday and has been responded to to the tune of ~ 20 pages. Great to see everyone support one another. Family, like the team we cheer for, is paramount to all of us.

Hang in there and may everyone realize what they have every single day....

Dave,

Like so many I also am saddened deeply by your loss. As a father of three, married for 20 years, the similarities surely hit me. I have dealt with losing a mother, a father, uncles, cousins, etc. but losing a wife or child is just even beyond all of that.

Though we haven't met by all normal standards, over the many years I have grown more and more fond of reading your insights on all things Patriots, with some offbeat tangents.

Strange how so many of us across the world can have a connection by love of a team and the wonders of the internet.

Godspeed, good man.

Can we start up some kind of charity thing for Dave? If he needs it, I'm sure many of us are willing to donate, including myself.

My wife passed away on Tuesday night in Boston. She was 36. We have 3 kids, 14, 12, and 8 years old.

We're all very devastated, of course. But we're hanging in there and the kids have been amazing. I'm also lucky to have several sets of supportive relatives, friends, and colleagues. So we're going to work our way through this eventually.

I just wanted to let you all know.

Dave, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I, who am never at a loss for words, am lost.

Know that people are thinking of you and your children and holding you in their hearts and praying for faith to carry you through and understanding to help you heal.

I have been touched by a similar situation and if you feel the need to talk, cry or rant to someone who's lived in the void where you find yourself, please PM me. I cannot offer answers, only commiseration - but it's been my experience that even that small bit is sometimes helpful.

Again, my condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you and yours.
