Tom Brady’s TB Times: Winter Is Here

As is always the case in the immediate aftermath of a New England Patriots’ victory, a new issue of the TB Times was published. The faux-newspaper headline is posted on to Tom Brady’s facebook page by a prompt executive assistant to celebrate each Pats win.

Today’s edition featured frozen Dolphins in a Game of Thrones theme, declaring that Winter Is Here.

Patriots wrap up top AFC seed and home field advantage with win at Miami

For those not familiar with GOT, the GOAT is depicted as the Night King. Behind TB12 are his army of White Walker zombies: eleven various New England Patriot players.

With three touchdown passes Brady added some very impressive milestones to his already legendary resume. The quarterback set an all-time NFL record for the best touchdown to interception ratio (14:1) in a single season with his 28th TD against just two picks. Brady also set an NFL record with 254 pass attempts on the road without an interception.

Early in the game the Patriot quarterback also passed Hall of Fame great Dan Marino for the third most career passing yards in NFL history. With the victory the Patriots also became just the seventh team in league history to go 8-0 on the road. This is the second time the Pats have accomplished that feat, with the other coming in 2007.

Tom Brady’s TB Times: TB12 Annihilates Jets In Snowball Fight

After each Patriot victory another edition of the TB Times is published. The faux newspaper headline appears on a near-weekly basis on Tom Brady’s Facebook page.

Today’s front page story depicts the GOAT clobbering elves in dunce caps and Jet gear with snowballs.

Patriots advance to 13-2 with victory over Jets

Brady completed 17 of 27 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns in just three quarters before Jimmy Garoppolo got some needed live reps. The game was never in doubt, with the Patriots up 27-0 at halftime. In SOJ fashion Bryce Petty injured his shoulder attempting to make a tackle after a Jet fumble.

Most notably Bill Belichick recorded his 200th victory as head coach with the Patriots. Malcolm Butler will likely be named Defensive Player of the Week after compiling three turnovers (two picks and a fumble recovery). The league’s number one scoring defense excelled, dominating the Jets all day. The Patriot D limited the Jets to one third down conversion in 11 attempts, and held New York to no scores in two red zone visits.

Tom Brady’s TB Times: Pats Get Back On The Horse

After every New England Patriots victory it is time for another edition of the TB Times on Tom Brady’s facebook page.

The Broncos had won each of the last three times the Patriots played in Denver. In a subtle reference to that stat the TB Times noted that the “Pats get back on the horse”. The picture has Dion Lewis (18 rushes for 95 yards, 5.3 yards per carry) holding the reigns of a none too happy horse.

On Saturday the Patriots host the Jets, and then wrap up the regular season on New Year’s Day at Miami.

Tom Brady’s TB Times: Game Over For Rams

John Morgan
December 4, 2016 at 7:00 pm ET

In today’s edition of the TB Times Tom Brady takes on the persona of a video gamer. At times it seemed as if the Patriots were were indeed the veteran video player, taking on a novice. The Patriots cruised to a 26-10 victory with the outcome seemingly never in doubt. New England out-gained LA 402 yards to 162. The Rams were limited to three points and 96 yards of offense until their final drive of the game in garbage time in the final two minutes. The Patriot defense stopped the Rams on their first seven third down opportunities. LA finished a meager 1-12 on third down.

The big story of course was that Brady won his 201st game at quarterback, to set an NFL all-time record. The Patriots advanced to 10-2 to remain in the top slot in the AFC playoff picture. With Miami losing at Baltimore the Pats are now up three games in the AFC East with only four games remaining in the regular season.

New England has won the AFC East title seven years in a row and 12 of the last 13 years, a number unmatched in the salary cap/free agency era. Only once has a Brady-led Patriot team not won the division. That occurred in 2002, in Brady’s second season as an NFL starting quarterback.

Tom Brady’s TB Times: “Wait… Voldemort is a Jets Fan?”

John Morgan
November 28, 2016 at 8:56 pm ET

After every New England Patriots game the TB Times publishes a front page story on Tom Brady’s facebook page. The latest includes a picture of well, a not untypical Jets fan I suppose.

The Patriots are now 9-2; the Jets are 3-8.

And in case you missed it, be sure to check out the video of Brady as a lead blocker for LeGarrette Blount on Sunday.

After two weeks on the road the Pats return home to Foxborough to take on the Los Angeles Rams. For those of you that will not be at Gillette Stadium the game will be on FOX rather than CBS, announced by Kevin Burhardt and John Lynch. For Pats fans enduring far too many games listening to Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts this will be a treat. We rarely hear Lynch since he works for FOX and does NFC games. In my opinion the former safety – who ended his pro football career as a Patriot in the 2008 preseason – is now the best commentator/analyst for the four networks broadcasting NFL games live.

For those that may have forgotten or not known about Lynch as a football player, here you go. It’s too bad the Patriots couldn’t have signed him a few years earlier.

TB Times: Tom Brady burns Steelers after Patriots’ 27-16 victory at Pittsburgh

John Morgan
October 23, 2016 at 10:15 pm ET

Soon after the New England Patriots defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, it was time for another edition of the TB Times to be published. Tom Brady – or perhaps an executive assistant – roasted Steeler Nation on his Facebook page after handing Pittsburgh their third loss of season.

Brady completed 73% of his passes (19/26) for 222 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The Patriots quarterback is averaging 335 passing yards per game on the season, with eight touchdowns and no turnovers. In TB12’s three games since his return from Article 46 exile the Patriots offense is averaging 32 points per game. On Sunday he even ran for three first downs, one on a quarterback sneak and two when all the receivers were covered.

LeGarrette Blount rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Blount gashed the team that unceremoniously dumped him two years ago to the tune of 5.3 yards per carry and outperforming Pittsburgh star running back Le’Veon Bell. Rob Gronkowski caught all four passes thrown his way, making the Steelers secondary look impotent. Gronk finished with 93 yards and one touchdown, and set up another touchdown knocking over defenders in his trademark style.

The Patriots did not come close to playing their best game. The Pats turned the ball over twice, set Pittsburgh up with great field position after a 35-yard Ryan Allen punt, and Stephen Gostkowski missed another extra point. Mike Tomlin was unable to take advantage of those miscues though, and that was the difference between a win and a loss. Both teams scored four times but while the Steelers were settling for field goals (and two missed field goal attempts), the Patriots kept responding with touchdowns.

Next up for the Patriots is an opportunity for payback. New England’s sole loss on the season was to the Bills and the Pats travel to Buffalo next week. Rex Ryan’s crew may have been caught looking ahead to that game, as the Bills were upset by Miami. Buffalo blew an 11-point second half lead, torched on both the ground (214 yards rushing by Ben Ajayi) and the air. A 66 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to Kenny Stills with 2:24 remaining sealed the outcome. Buffalo drops to 4-3, two games behind the Patriots in the AFC East; Miami improves to 3-4.

Patriots vs Eagles: Best of Patriots Social Media Week 13

Week 13 began on a high “flying” note for the New England Patriots as quarterback Tom Brady posted to his Facebook page yet another weekly funny Photoshop photograph of himself entitled “The Eagles Have Landed.”

The Eagles have landed #gameday #letsgooooo

Posted by Tom Brady on Sunday, December 6, 2015

Leading up to the game, almost everyone was unanimously picking the Patriots. Many by large margins.

Just a little bit off…(Keep reading)

The game started ugly but somehow the Patriots found themselves up 14-0 with the help of six Eagles penalties.

But then uncharacteristic and unexplained events began to unravel for the Patriots towards the end of the second quarter. Beginning with an unusual drop kick that hasn’t happened since the 1930’s…no that wasn’t how it was drawn up.

Stephen Gostkowski walked up to the ball and flipped it to Nate Ebner, who drop kicked the ball right to the Eagles for a great field position. The Eagles wound up scoring cutting the deficit to 7 at 14-7.

Care for an explanation Bill?

And then the special teams nightmares continued on this blocked punt right before halftime when it appeared the Patriots were about to go up 21-14, instead we had a tie ballgame going into halftime

….it was a rough night for Nate Ebner.

AND THEN THIS HAPPENED early in the third quarter….when again it appeared the Patriots were about to go ahead. The 3rd red zone interception for Tom Brady THIS SEASON of his five total.

Did I mention this game was a Patriots special teams nightmare? Oh right the Eagles weren’t finished.

Darren Sproles has wheels.

As the game reached 28-14 in favor of the Eagles following the punt return, Bill Belichick pulled a little trickery out of his hat on this crazy play that saw Tom Brady catch his first pass since 2001.

It was short lived.

Uhhh…Do Your Job? Moving along…

The Patriots would rally back with one score at 35-28 to put the game within reach courtesy of an onside kick that led to a touchdown.

Alas, what is an NFL game without some more poor officiating controversies?

The Eagles final drive that closed the game out contained this questionable false start on quarterback Sam Bradfords clutch third down conversion under two minutes to play.

It was another long night for wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

This video made its return.

“It felt like a bad day of practice.” LaFell would say to the media following the game.

The Patriots were given life to potentially tie the game with under a minute to play, but key drops by Lafell and James White had the offense looking like….

When all was said and done the sky was falling yet again in Patriots Nation following the Eagles stunning 35-28 upset victory in Foxboro.

But just remember…somebody always has it worse.
