Good morning, here are Sunday’s Patriots news 1-1, and AFC East Notes for this week. From all of us here at PatsFans.com, we wish you all a Happy and Healthy New […]
The Patriots can finish the season 8-0 on the road with a victory Sunday which would mark just the seventh time it’s been done in modern history.
In this episode we looked back at the Patriots victory against the Jets. Later on, we previewed the upcoming game for the Pats against the Dolphins. On top of all of that, we discussed which team we most want the Patriots to face in the Playoffs.
Patriots to mix in Blount and Lewis keeping things varied in the running game. Force the Dolphins to cheat up in run support which opens up passing lanes.
Adam Schefter of ESPN was on WEEI this week and said the baseline for a trade for Jimmy G. would begin with the Bradford deal, a first and a fourth rounder.
The Buccaneers deserve their own category simply because their playoff scenario is stranger than Rex Ryan’s proclivity for hidden cameras in an orthopedic surgeon’s office. Not only do the Bucs need a game to end in a tie, they also need two meaningless non-conference games to end in their favor. Oh, and for the Niners to beat Seattle too.
The Dolphins run defense is 30th in the league allowing a whopping 141.8 yards per game. They also allow a league worst 4.9 yards per carry.
Brady really completed his work by halftime going 13-21 for 171 with three scores in the first 30 minutes.
Belichick joins just Curly Lambeau, George Halas, Tom Landry and Don Shula as the only coaches to win 200 games with one team.
Jets QBs were 8-24 for just 128 net yards with zero touchdowns and three interceptions. They were 1-11 on third down.
the past two games the defense has allowed six points total, and Jets QBs today completed just 8 of 24 passes for 136 yards with three interceptions.
Brady completed 17 of 27 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns in just three quarters before Jimmy Garoppolo got some needed live reps. The game was never in doubt, with the Patriots up 27-0 at halftime. In SOJ fashion Bryce Petty injured his shoulder attempting to make a tackle after a Jet fumble.
The Patriots will want to naturally put the ball in Petty’s hands and force him to beat them. Hightower will be a big part of the defense in that aspect.
Opposing QBs have a passer rating of 100.2 against the Jets this season. Look for Brady to continue that trend on Saturday.
They overpaid a bunch of veterans with the “win-now” approach attempting to re-ignite the fan base and put the new coach in a favorable position.
