Coming off of Sunday night’s win in Baltimore, New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs quietly added to what’s become an impressive stat total this season.

The following is an open letter from Patriot Nation to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Patriots came into this season a little thin on the depth chart at various positions on the roster, but they made a move on Tuesday to ensure they keep one player around for the foreseeable future.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has said on more than one occasion that “it takes everyone” in big games, and it’s safe to say the Patriots were forced to do just that on Sunday night.

The Patriots needed the supreme effort of every player on the roster to gut out a win.

Patriot fans have largely been a spoiled lot. Six Super Bowl wins will do that to you. In one win, the coaching staff melted down. In another game, the team overcame a 28-3 deficit and won in overtime. In two other wins, a kicker who should be in the Hall of Fame kicked two of the most clutch field goals in history.

Good morning.  Steve is on vacation this weekend, and I’ll be holding things down this morning while he’s away.  For now, here’s a look at this morning’s notes ahead of tonight’s showdown against the Ravens.

We are on to Baltimore in a Prime-Time battle.  This game was flexed from 1:00 to the Sunday Night Football slot on NBC.  The Patriots have an opportunity to erase the bad taste in their mouth after the collapse against the Bills.  The Ravens are a quality opponent, and if the Patriots want to shed the moniker of frauds, they must beat the Ravens in Baltimore.

Clogging the passing lanes in the middle of the field and slowing down the tight ends is imperative this week. 

After racing out to a 21-0 lead and up 24-7 at the break, they collapsed in the 2nd half where the defense was manhandled in the 35-31 loss

I’m angry after this loss to Buffalo.  I’m angry that the Defense couldn’t contain Josh Allen and James Cook in the 2nd half. 

The Bills showed the Patriots what December football is like. Actually, they showed the Patriots what January football is like.

The Patriots have had such a focus on getting off to fast starts this season that it feels like they might have forgotten about one other important detail. Scoring in the second half.

TreVeyon Henderson could be a candidate for OROY after his 14 carry, 148 yard game with touchdowns of 52 and 65 yards.

New England went out and scored on the opening drive, going 73 yards on 8 plays, including a 30 yard toss to Kayshon Boutte that helped set up an 8-yard touchdown run by Drake Maye to give them an early 7-0 lead.  They later followed that up with two more scoring drives, adding two more touchdowns to go up 21-0.

The Patriots had the opportunity to win the Eastern Division of the AFC and let it slip through their fingers.

The Patriots sit in 2nd place with an 11-2 record in the AFC playoff table.  Nobody expected the Patriots to be in this position when they started the season 1-2. 

The general betting public still likes Josh Allen more than Drake Maye.

Heading into this past Sunday’s slate of games, the Patriots didn’t get much help when it came to another team potentially playing the role of spoiler during Week 14.

As the NFL gets ready to head into the final month of the season, it’s made some changes when it comes to trying to ensure the most compelling match-ups are the ones placed into the spotlight.
